All I have to say is Im broke becuase of my stupid computer.

I took it into this shop. Turns out the motherboard was fried and I had to have it replaced (Slot A - for AMD 750mhz). Those boards are DAMN hard to find by the way. If you have a choice, go with Socket A boards.

Motherboard - $60 (A Open - yeah I know they are crappy boards, but Im broke damnit).

2 hours of labor = $90 (Kind of a rip off to me, but I guess they get paid to do what I dont know about).

So basically I am going to be living off Ramen noodles and generic corn flakes for another 2 weeks when I get paid. :(

AOpen's aren't necessarily any worse than any other mobo. I've used them in the past with no real problems. Is it an AX6BC? I have a Duron running on one of those. Been running for a year or two with no problems.

The labor is a rip-off... always is in just about any industry. If all they did was mount a mobo into a case for you, and I guess hook up your hard drives then they've got mush for brains if it took 2 hours. :)
