Amazing that trump defenders will support an employer forcing employees to attend a political rally or lose pay...

you think they should be paid to go to a political rally?

they should be paid for working.

yes, stay home and not get paid and be forced to use vacation time.

why are you defending this? it makes no sense.

I know. It was weird how we had like only 10 posts about it then it went away. You would think it would garner more conversation due to it involving the law enforcement motivation.

Because i defended him on collision doesn't make me a supporter.

The collision talk was idiotic and i criticized it as such and have been proven to be correct.

Tired of repeating this to you also.

You're trying to make this into something it isn't. It's not ignored. It's just that we're tired. Had the multiple other events not happened so recently, there certainly would've been more discussion.

Because the money was available or they didn't have to go. Using vacation is for getting paid. You do understand that right?

Who the fuvk complains for getting paid for not working and not being there 8 hrs

Stupid. Liberals understand that you don't prevent everyday criminals by tossing them in dungeons after the fact but by preventing them from becoming criminals in the first place by providing a quality education and opportunities to succeed. Liberals also understand that you prevent everyday criminals from having guns by screening all gun purchases and holding gun dealers accountable for their gun inventories. But you go on with your common sense diarrhea.

Sure. "Liberals" (well, actually the vast majority of Americans) want strengthened background checks, returning the law trump reversed a previous law preventing mentally ill people from purchasing guns, longer waiting periods, limits on magazines, voluntary gun exchanges, and assault weapon bans.

Yea, "liberals" don't care about guns.

I’m just wondering what the relevance of the post was. One was a company function and the other is a political rally. How are they slightly similar? So, sit in the stands and watch Netflix when your mere presence directly correlates to being a supporter?

    Questionable post gets questioned.

    This country provides education
You cant make parents make their kids care about education. I can show ypu numerous threads where liberal treat focusing on homes is a hopeless idea

Edit: some of those dungeons even provide education

And those issues only come up in mass shooting threads when a lot more people die from everyday crime. The numbers aren't close

Edit: Washington D.C. and Chicago have some of the strictest gun laws and some of the worst crime

Why should they have to use their vacation for a day they want to work? It's a problem because the company is forcing people to go to a political rally to get paid. Yes, they have a choice...but the choice shouldn't be to not get paid or have to use one of your vacation days because your employer chose to host a political rally during the workday.

Yep, liberals and leftists can't seem to understand: you can't force someone to "get" an education.

If the student wants it, then a broken down classroom will work just fine.

If the student does not want it? Then all the state of the art systems in the world will not help.

And, it's up to the parents to make the student value education.

I get it. For Shell, they're trying to cultivate a good relationship with the president to get favorable treatment in legislation, in regulation, and in foreign policy. So you want to be hospitable if the president will visit and you want to try to guarantee a good turnout, especially knowing how sensitive this president happens to be about crowd size. Whether it is "work" or not, it's good for the company and the shareholder. Given the demographic, there's probably a lot of Trumpers in their workforce too, so those guys get to see Trump and get paid for it too. But for the worker who does not like Trump to be presented with this incentive set, it steps on his toes politically. Not only is the shop a pro-Trump shop, but Corporate wants it to be pro-Trump, and if you're not then you don't really belong. It kinda limits your recruiting for workers to do that, and not just there but throughout the company, white collar included. My company would be at pains to avoid doing something like that. But then, for Shell it might be that currying presidential favor is more valuable than a broad applicant pool.

But they didn't have to do it this way. Have everyone come to work that day and pay everyone for their time that day. People can choose to either attend Trump's thing, or hang out and do some light busy work in another building. You'd end of filling the room and dodge the bad press.

Go ahead and start a thread on it. I'll probably post in it.

The numbers aren't close? Do you ever research anything before you post? This took two seconds:

    Poll: Majority Favor Gun Control
An overwhelming majority of Americans favor background checks on guns.
    https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2019-08-19/poll-majority-favor-gun-control

Poll: 97 percent support background checks for all gun buyers
    https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brie...-support-background-checks-for-all-gun-buyers

And btw, strict gun controls in a city or even state isn't very useful if neighboring cities or states don't have strict gun control laws. That's why Democrats and in fact most Americans want strict national gun laws.
