Why the hell is there a trailer for a sequel? It better not be because of China. So many awful Hollywood movies and directors given a lifeline because of China...
How would there be a sequel? Didn't Bruce-Bruce threaten Amanda Waller that his "friends" would come after them if they kept their suicide team intact?
Because it made lots of money. A movie, especially one that is part of a universe or franchise, that makes lots of money is basically guaranteed a sequel. On a budget of $175 million, it made $325 million domestically and $420 million internationally. Assuming a marketing budget of $100 million or so, that's a $470 million profit. It also has positive reviews from the audience, despite being critically reviled. Why on earth wouldn't they make a sequel?
Meh, just make a Harley Quinn movie with Catwoman and let Deadshot be a proper villian in one of the other movie. Does anybody really care about the rest of the "squad". I would be perfectly happy if I never had to see Leto's Joker again.
Wish an actual comic book thread would get as many hits as a watered down comic book movie thread. No one likes comic books but everyone loves the corny family friendly movies based on them lol
The only thing I will say about Suicide Squad 2 is that it can't be worse than the first one. It will be a case where the sequel is better than the original. That is only because of the bar of the original was set so incredibly low. The only way I'll see the second one is when it comes to HBO or netflix.
still haven't seen the first. i saw bits and pieces here and there. unless it's 200 minutes of harley quinn dancing around naked, i don't see any value in a suicide squad movie.
The 2 animated suicide squad movies are great and that should be their template for the movies going forward.
dc has a wealth of goat animated movies so you would think all their live action movies would be home runs. but alas, they must be run by some goat level idiot to miss wide open layups.
The animated movies stick to the source material and the live action doesn't and thats why they don't get the same quality. You have some of the best stories ever told and there is no need to re invent the wheel to make a good movie.
