Anyone with better writing skills than my chicken scratch hear the daily report from Col. David Hackworth today on Hannity's show? Please give a recap here. Hannity was basically blindsided by Hackworth, who said that Rumsfeld and the US brass were idiots for being unprepared for the type of resistance we're seeing now. He also said that despite the "everything-is-going-according-to-plan" spiel from Rumsfeld et. al., he has spoken personally with troops on the ground who are saying the exact opposite. Crestfallen, Hannity quickly goes to commercial break! That was so awesome.
The resistance we are seeing now is a result of how we screwed over the Iraqis in the 1st Gulf War. At least that's my feeling on it. I don't think any planning could have prevented what is happening now. The civilians of Iraq don't believe we are actually going to take out Saddam. If they did then our job would be much easier.
