We haven't had a steady point guard since Kenny Smith.
Before the usual response, look at the health, tenure, turnovers to assists ratio, shooting, free throw shooting.
Someone who's can run the offense intelligently.

Kenny Smith started 455 games for the rockets.

The next point i want has to start 400 plus games.

Are the Mavs going to offer him a starter's job?

all comes down to dollars and cents....

I'd love to keep Bev, but given offensive limitations and injuries - it would have to be at the right price....

With Bev, we'd have to pay for a 2nd pg with skills that offset Bevs shortcomings and that can potentially take on the starting role if needbe... Bev could start - but I'd want him splitting time... someone else mentioned Barera - who would be perfect.. bevs d and barea bringing a spark to the second unit.... maybe 2 guys gettin 4-5m ea... guessin Bev would want more...

Sure sounds like it. If they're planning on getting into a bidding war over the guy, it ain't to have him as a backup. Which means Cuban isn't serious about building a contender. Even if they do get DeAndre, can you imagine Bev throwing him alleyoops? He can't even make a decent pass into the post.

Won't miss Bev too much if we get Lowry or Lawson...

I thought Parsons had a blown up knee and needs surgery. Who wants to play for a team with an ancient PF and a SF who can't play? Even Cuban has to realize that his team has much bigger holes in it than overpaying a decent PG would plug. Bev is a nice complimentary piece but he can't work miracles.

Or is Morey in Cuban's head that much?

Honestly, Pat would not be a starter on the vast majority of teams in the NBA. I feel like either Llull or Tyus Jones couldn't be that much worse than him, and both having much more upside.

I expect to see Deandre sign with Dallas in July and I'm not sure how they will be able to pursue Bev but Cuban and Dan *** will surely figure something out

i'm ok with this either way.

i would rather let him walk than overpay.

so, if we keep him i'd be happy, and if he gets overpaid by the mavs i'd be happy.

All these Rockets meeting back on old teams.

We had the Sacramento Rockets then the Minnesota Rockets and now the Dallas Rockets.

So I take that there are no issues between Beveley and Parsons (still hang out some more). ;)
