[ClutchFans] Patrick Beverley hopes to return to Rockets, but Chandler Parsons is calling

Question: How come Parsons isn't recruiting Jeremy Lin to Dallas?

Lin is a FA and he isn't even an RFA like Beverley.

 

I can see Parsons recruiting both Bev and Lin lol

 

they broke up. parsons got fat, and lin dont want no fat ass.

Hope we can keep him. Only concern is being injury prone. Not that concern with his "down" year. I think he has the stuff to correct that and when it really count in the playoff, erase it. It would be great if we can bring in a high quality PG and have that competition again as to who should start as PG. And I hope that's someone new is a creator, passer, shooter, finisher and is at least decent defensively. Someone like Lin without the mental lapse.

 

Harden wants more help at guard not a new guard

 

You can't really blame him and some team (hopefully NOT Houston) will pay it, it will more than likely be his only contract. HOU needs an upgrade at the 1 and honestly BeverlEy is a 4th-5th tier pg!! He was "ok" on defense, his 3pt shot was "decent" , he can't finish and , well.. I won't miss him

Yeah, but problem is it's not so easy to snatch a solid PG.

 

We never got to see a team that had Beverly, Dwight (healthy), Smith, Trevor & Brewer on defense together this season. I'm thinking that would be a hell of a defense.

 

Bev will thrive in Dallas. Next Dwight

 

Everyone in Dallas is convinced that DeAndre Jordan will be a Maverick next season. They act very confident about this.

 

The reason for that is Beverley is injury prone. The guy can't play a full NBA season. He also can't shoot.

 

He is a good (not great) 3pt shooter, .361 career average.

 

You know who else has that heart and soul?



AND he likes to cook it up as well

 

Based on this the Rockets will be ok after Bev leaves. Almost everything DD post the opposite is true.

 

I'd be a little surprised if Dallas overpaid for Beverley, but I guess it would be their calling card. Always filling holes rather than team building.

Look at Houston. If Brewer leaves? KJ. If Beverley leaves? Nick Johnson. Dwight goes down? Capela. We've got guys in the pipeline to keep this team moving forward even if we lose rotation players. What does Dallas have? An old star, an overpaid role player, and tons of unrestricted free agents. Good luck with that.

If Cuban wants to overpay for Bev, I say let him. Last time he gave out an oversized contract to a Rockets restricted free agent, it didn't work out so well. And the last time he gave up too much for a point guard coming off an injury who was overrated defensively and a mediocre shooter, that completely blew up in his face.

Bev is a backup point guard on a title contender. Nothing more.
