Exactly. For all people complain about Harden drawing fouls, there’s legitimate contact on 93.5% of them, whether it’s up top or towards his legs when shooting 3s.

In contrast, some of those calls Mitchell and the Jazz were getting, especially in that monstrosity of a third quarter, were completely nonsensical.

And yet the Jazz fans and young children online will still whine. I already know it. F*ck ‘em, though

Huge win. This team showed real toughness tonight. What a game.

Jazz had the refs give them everything, were in the bonus basically the entire 3rd quarter, shot 38 free throws, Harden had a historically bad game shooting game, Capela was horrendous, Mitchell was on fire in the first half, Gobert had a bajillion blocks, and they were at home in front of a rowdy home crowd, and STILL lost.

I wouldn't call it matador. He was funneling him to Capela on purpose. He had too, Donovan is too good and Harden doesn't have the lateral quickness to stay with him. He needed to avoid giving the refs a reason to give him a 5th foul.

You guys need to watch James play when he isn't in foul trouble or when he has 4 fouls but the game is about to finish. He did it tonight on Gobert when Rudy tried to back him up, James made an aggressive play and went for the steal. There was only less than 3 minutes left in the game at that point so he was willing to make a risky play to get a steal. It didn't pan out, but point is, that Harden is smart enough to know when to be aggressive.

Weird. Hostile road game in the playoffs and Harden still attempts 16 free throws? So much for "he won't get the calls in the playoffs".

Watching Green play is maddening as a Rockets fan. He's a terrible decision maker and makes costly mistakes, but nails clutch bullshit shots.

That was one of the most impressive games I have seen Harden play. Utah's entire game plan focused on stopping him from scoring. He broke a record on missed shots from the field. But he totally maintained his discipline, took the shots he should take, made the passes he should make, and did not make it about his personal scoring. It was awesome.

He was getting hammered on more plays that weren’t even called.

That was MY point. James had to let Mitchell go by to avoid more fouls.
Good thing he did because we surely needed him in the game in the 4th.

It's not about "underrating" last season's team. The Rockets, as currently constituted, have won 23 of 28 games since the All-Star break. And they've been one of the best defensive teams in the league. I think having Rivers, Faried, and House is an upgrade over Ariza, an injured Mbah a Moute, and the husk of Ryan Anderson.
