We all know Dwight is the type of player that only gives 100% hustle whenever he feels like. And this is one of those games. Gonna be a tough one!

MDA kinda slipped up in an interview and alluded to a time-line having to do with back-to-back. He said, "We have a good schedule while he's out -- only one B2B between now and then." Well, today and tomorrow are that B2B. So, the next one in Nov 11/12, meaning the plan is before then.

I'm taking a total guess here, based upon practice days. I think he's coming back for the Nov 9th game at home against Lebron. If Tilman has any input on an arbitrary return time (Paul seems to say he's already OK), then getting him out there for Lebron and the season-ticket holders would be it.

Lebron aside, I pick that day because of practice time. We have 3 days off, between Nov 5th and 9th games. That will give MDA three days to go full practice with Paul. That said, maybe he plays the home Nov 5th game vs Utah as a test drive, prior to the practice days. That would be good ... because we can sure use him against Gobert.

So,
Nov 5th or 9th is his return date.

 

@heypartner in my head I was hoping for a Nov 5th return vs Utah. But those extra practice days leading up to Cleveland makes sense

 

Yeah, for basketball reasons, I would definitely lean more to the 5th, as well, from the standpoint of competition and MDA might want to test some new plays against a Gobert-type rim protector defense....plus, knocks off some rust prior to Lebron.

I'm hoping for the 5th, too. Would really like to see him against Utah.

9th just gives him time to rest more for free (no games), and MDA always likes the guy coming back to have some full practices under his belt
