I'm sorry but I just don't see us winning if our PF rotation is Morris and Parsons! We need big dudes to come up big tonight so Smith needs to play 4 next to Asik and play the 5 with TJ at the 4. No way Morris is going to cut it. et's hope Patterson's back, we need him.
We could always use some offense from the center postion. Why would we not need offense? Just because he's great at defense doesn't mean we wouldn't like for him to make some baskets.
worried about this one. They have quality bigs down low and are very fast with williams and teauge. Williams is a 3 pt threat that I worry about.
Any improvement in offense from Asik is a good thing, however, considering most of us were anticipating minimal to ZERO offense from Asik, I think at this point we're talking about Gravy. Any points from Asik's offense is pretty much a bonus as far as I'm concerned. A LOT more players need to step up before we should be sweating Asik's offense...
Other than the typical stuff to look for in a game, we should really look to see if Josh Smith's play fits in with the Rockets. Not a good outside shooter, not a low post player, but he'd look great playing PnR with Lin and Harden, or as a trailer on Lin/Harden drives to the basket. Defensive, if you put him next to Asik, you'd have an immovable wall + a great weakside shotblocker. Both are quick on their feet and can defend drives and PnRs. Great defensive tandem. And Josh Smith will be a crazy target on the fast break, and he is also a very very underrated passer from the PF spot. All these fit in very well with the Rockets.
I honestly just want a win & to see better defense. We had better defense in our last pre-season game than we did against Detroit.
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen Patrick Patterson good to go tonight. Greg Smith game time decision.
