funny portland getting calls, rox just get it's playoff basketball. all i can say is life is fair and things usually even out meaning rox should start getting calls at some point and portland will stop making every shot they throw up and the circus and carnival shots won't go in anymore.

agreed. it's not like you can predict the future of what may happen. nothing is certain at time in the NBA.

Portland could have got possess, scored a quick 3, or maybe 2. Rockets get fouled FT,s then portland could try for another 2, maybe even get fouled. With the way these games are reffed, Portland could have easily gotten some favorable calls too. I'm not saying what Lin did was smart or approve, more like it was a gutsy move that did not turn out well. But let's look at the following play after the miss of the layup.

We have 4 rockets back still. Lin's play is over, but now the players should be preparing for the team that is bringing the ball up. There's lots of things to look at.

randomly, I also think bev should be given praise for being most consistent roleplayer on the team. played exremely well esp last night. i dont really want Tjones on - DMO should take his spot and shared with mins of daniels.

It should have been a Flagrant 1 on Aldridge

Agreed. Calls like that tend to be affected by the flow of the game, though. For whatever reason the officials let it go.

History is written by the victors.

    SO

    Twin Towers? Brilliant coaching
    Harden ISO? More please
Parson fouls out? Good job - no easy buckets in playoffs.
    JLin decisions? Genius

If we lost, well then, the second column changes doesn't it?

They tie with a 3? We get last possesion.

Lin missed, Portland gets a 2 for 1 while also tying the game.

I'm not arguing the fact that he drove it in aggressively, thats a good play. BUT, if he just pulls it out its a much safer play. Missing a lay-up is a bad play.

It also depends on all the variables that play out in these types of games - inadvertent shooting fouls, deliberate fouls, offensive rebounds, steals, intentional fouls to the 3-point shooter, 4-point plays, short possessions, etc.

I actually told a stranger that after watching the live replay. I couldn't believe it was Beverley the shortest guy prying the ball off Aldridge the tallest guy to secure the rebound and the win.

It's just amazing it took both incredible consecutive plays for the win.

Yes, his rock bottom basketball IQ actually cancelled out with 2 dumb decisions.

-In the lead.... burn the clock or TRY to be a hero?

-Pass to Dwight for the dunk on Lillard, 6 foot, defensive juggernaut.... or make less risky pass for the more risky shot rookie Daniels?

    Negative x negative = positive!

So glad we got that W though

Man, some teammates would be up in Aldridge's grill right after that foul - gotta stick up for your own guys!

I would say it's more of luck. It was still about 50 sec left. Lin may saw a good chance to lock the win (and actually it is). I would blame him for not making the lay up. but I won't say it cost the game if we lost last night.

I don't like that play. I find myself saying that about Lin a lot. Sometimes he comes up big, sometimes he falls short, but 9/10 times I ask myself "did he think before he did that?" When you're leading by 3, there's 50 seconds on the clock, you hold the ball. Its as boneheaded of a play as Harden putting the ball down for a dribble after that rebound. Both guys made dumb plays down the stretch if you ask me. I think both guys redeemed themselves in the OT.

No idea. The only "reason" I could come up with is to allow Lin more time to recover. It was a really bad hit and I was filthy it wasn't called a flagrant foul. I know Aldridge aimed for the ball but the damage was there to be seen.
