Someone tell me why Dantoni was blaming fatigue for the loss last night. Its game #1 of the season and our players are already tired?!

I'm not surprised that the Pelicans won. Adjusting to new players and learning the system takes time too.

However, I didn't anticipate such a huge thrashing by any means. Coach
JB is being missed. There is a lot of homework that needs to be done and quickly too.

    There’s two types of fatigue.

    1) Season long break down

    2) Internal game energy

The Pelicans drained the Rockets of the second type of fatigue because they played at an extremely fast pace.

That's also the same pace they played last year. And it will also be the same pace the Lakers will play with. Rockets should understand this.

If you don't want to get pantsed....better rev up those motors.

    it is only one game.

Payton looks quicker, and a better passer than CP3.

Yes these are not good matchups for “play your way into shape” games.

I'd guess that he means our players are damn old.

    Paul vs Payton
    Melo/Tucker vs Randle
    Green vs Hill

    What a joke?

Scary thing is that we have 5 young Centers .......

    Are we really fatigue now?

My original projection is 52 wins this season.

You right about Capela needing to go into Davis. NBA trainers don't know how to train. You freeze your defender when you bump him in the post and you can quickly go up for hook shot.

Fatigue should never be used unless something crazy happened on a back-to-back situation or something. If it really is fatigue, then that’s on the coaches’ training schedule during the preseason.

Those Caribbean nights must have been very wild if it was fatigue.

I think it should be noted that the Pelicans always gave us matchup issues, because their bigs truly took capela out of the game, just like last night. Mirotic is a legit stretch 4 and davis can even nullify the effectiveness of our 2 stars both in iso situations and as a help defender (though harden can still get off some lob passes). So it is ONE game, against a team we didnt match up well with even last year, but at the same time, it's pretty painful to have watched it last night.

Main takeaway: I really don't see the defensive depth to keep the exact same switching strat we employed last year. When I watch this team now, I just see mismatch upon mismatch. Before, we had enough versatility where even if it wasn't an ideal switch, it wouldn't be THIS bad of a matchup. Now it's just scrambling help defenders because we just don't have the versatility with each player anymore. I really don't think Ennis gives us enough defensively the same way ariza did, so I would almost rather see Melo start instead of him. I think Ennis could eventually be to the value of what Bah Moute was for us last year but he's not even there yet. His defense just feels like there's little visible impact so far.

Here's to hoping we come out super strong against the lakers or else i have to freakin hear about it by these entitled lakers fans.

Alright I just wanna say, match up problem or not, we have always beaten them. We were 3-1 against them last year. We beat them in New Orleans with AD. Miriotic can not guard Harden or Paul 1 on 1 imo. I dont see him as a threat on defense at all.

it could be a whole lot tougher this year if the new additions don't space the floor well enough to impact the game for harden and cp3. the iso's become that much more difficult with help defenders coming and if guys aren't making those shots, its an easy win for the opposing defense. A concern coming into the season when some people wanted to automatically imply the offense easily got better etc. ennis is unproven. mcw sure isn't a worry out there. melo, well that's a well known topic in itself.

I know I know..., but I just freaking hate it when people act like the Pelicans are some Rockets killers, when we are just really bad right now.
