They wanted to rebuild and Jimmy Butler and Pau Gasol weren't taking them to anything. Zach LaVine signed a 4 year / $78,000,000 contract with the Chicago Bulls, including $78,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $19,500,000. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/chicago-bulls/zach-lavine-15365/
Amazing how much better this team looks when it has HEALTH and the full compliment of players. Further, players that are all slotted into their specific roles. Also, interesting that House has basically jumped ahead of Gary Clark in the rotation. House and Nene in.....rookies Clark and Hartenstein out. As it stands now the rotation is Paul Harden / EG Ennis / Green Tucker / House! Capela / Nene with Clark and Hartenstein shifting to "limited rotation." How much do the Rockets really like House? Or do they like him "just enough" to put him ahead of Clark? Rockets roster is at 15 with the addition of House. If they like him, and they want to convert Clark's 2-way to a regular contract, they are going to have to make some roster clearing trades. Chriss/MCW/Knight/Melo.....December 15th can't come soon enough.
for comparison purposes here's a critical view of the worriers bench from a standpoint of a self-critical worriers fan This bench This is the worst bench I’ve seen since we’ve become a playoff team. Shaun & Andre are no longer impact players. Andre’s performance at times has been plain awful, surprised it has been mentioned more. Quinn is a borederline G Leaguer, yes he can shoot but does nothing else at even an average level. Looney should honestly be starting and is by far our most reliable big. That in itself is scary as he’s nothing special. Jonas is serviceable but a liability against anyone who’s even remotely athletic. Bell & Jones are as inconsistent as they are athletic and the rest of the bench is awful. We actually need Cousins back and playing at a high level. With our complete lack of depth his scoring and rebounding might not just be a luxury. Feels like the big 4 are going to have to play a lot of heavy minutes for this team to even win 55 games. Rest of the league has evolved a lot of the past 4 years and it shows every night. I believe 55 wins gets us a #1 seed but it’s not gonna be easy to get there. I still like our chances if we make it to April healthy and with Cousins capable of giving us 15-10 on any given night though.
Been thinking about this. It could be a very simple explanation. Due to the team needing to make roster changes, and make decisions on which of these NG bros gets a remainder-of-season contract (and for how many years), MDA might just want to give House extra minutes to gauge his value. And he earned a closer look with his defense, imo. One of those 10-day type looks were they temporarily sacrifice one player's time to check out another.
