So true. Thats what he was in memphis, a basketball player. He still relies on hitting 3's to be offensively effective, but at least he was aggressive in letting it fly. Great game for shane.

I wish he did this more often, but he is what he is. Hopefully, Doug Collins was watching tonight.

 

He can be consistent on offense if he stays this aggresive

 

I just realized, everyone is saying Battier did his best Kobe impersonation tonight, the actually most apt comparison would be Robert Horry (minus the playoffs factor).

Something tells me he will end up in a Laker uniform next year.

Last two players I can remember manning to to Kobe (Artest, Barnes) ended up signing with them the next year.

 

Battier dominates Kobe, yes, that was the best game for the rockets so far this year. Every time you beat Laker, Jazz or Mav, it is a big deal.

 

Not a Battier fan. But credit where credit is due.

Far and away Battier's best game in Rockets' uniform. And one of the better 5 minute stretches of Rockets' BBall since Hakeem hung 'em up. "Out of Body" is extremely accurate.

Couple of secondary points worth noting. Hill was on the court with him. And forcing Kobe (or Durant or Butler or any quality SF/SG) to play a little D and run in transition pays bonuses.

 

Very true. This should give him confidence to play on both ends of the floor consistently.

During a 2-minute stretch, Battier scored 11 points. So that's about 198 points per 36 minutes.

Of course, he hit all of his shots during this time and it's clearly not reasonable to expect him to shoot 100% all the time.

Let cut the percentage in half, assuming Battier remains aggresive like he was during that time, he is clearly capable of averaging about 99 points per 36 minutes.

 

I am pretty sure we are undefeated when Battier actually looks for his shot. :grin:

They are 4-2 when he scores 12 or more. 2-10 when he scores less than 12. See the last paragraph in the link.

Amen to that! But in all seriousness I think they'd be looking at Battier/Jeffries as large expirings.
