How many plays did Lin create in the playoffs and how many assist did he rack up...?

I'm not completely sold that neither Lin or Bev is the best fit in the backcourt with Harden. You're spinning your wheels on who's the best out of the two... The question is which one fits best in the backcourt with Harden and if Isaiah can hold his own on the defensive end he may be in the mix as well. And Reggie also. Since Harden likes to dominate the ball like a point guard, put a shooting guard in the backcourt with him.

Right now that spot next to Harden isn't set in stone. We'll see if one of these guys step up or does Morey still have work to do.

Harden played with Asik as well but yet he ranks higher than Chris Paul who had Blake and Griffin. WoW... How good is Harden...

ABJ wants ABJ to start at PG, clear enough?

While this is a great what-if article, the reality is that we really dont' know which tandem of either Harden/Howard or Lin/Howard will execute the PnR better and result in more wins until we see it.

One would expect Harden to take more shots (while using Howard as a decoy in the PnR) than Lin who would rather pass/allyoop the ball to Howard more. It really depends on matchups against other teams and who is having a hot game. From a statistical standpoint, the Harden/Howard scenario sounds logical but I would take the 5th and see how the offense really plays out.

I think you're underrating Lin, a lot. Not all assists are equally valuable, Hollinger used to write about it back in the day.

More than half of Lin's assists were layups and dunks, that's amazing. As a matter of fact - he was the only starting PG to do it.

I didn't say a single negative word about Lin in that post. My only claim was that Bev is underrated in the "racking up assists" department.

I have said on many occasions that Lins assist numbers playing next to a ball dominate guard like Harden are very good.

First, Lins not as good a pick and roll player as James. Crazy talk.

Secondly, why would you limit a superstar to being a spot up shooter as an option to maybe get the ball with a Lin/Howard pick and roll? lol organically Lin can run the occasional pnr while James is in the game, but sparingly

You don't make one of the top 3-5 play makers in the game wait for a shakey Lin to make those decisions.

Last, only time Lin needs to dominate the PnR is when James is on the bench. Period.

I'm skeptical of both Lin and Beverly. Bev had 2 awesome games in the playoffs but his super-aggressive D that we all loved got him into early foul trouble. Reggie Jackson and Derek Fisher kind of exploded on us the last few games too. Reggie Jackson in particular looked like the Thunder's 2nd best player that series.

I believe the goal is to win a championship, not to show case your star. The whole point of the setup is to maximize points per games by letting your players play to their relative strength. When Harden is playing PnR, the team should replace Lin with a better 3 pt shooter(assuming he is averaging pre-ASG stat), but then they are both on the court, Lin should be doing the PnR and Harden should be at the 3 pt line because he is better at it and you will average more pts per games this way. However, if the setup is to have Harden do a step back 3 pt shot via the PnR as someone said earlier, then by all means, use Harden in the PnR because it is more efficient.

Totally agree. Harden's strength is scoring, not PnR. Lin is very good with PnR. Why Rockets not use Lin's strength to play with Howard? Jeremy Lin is PG, not a shooter. This doesn't make any sense.

With all due respect. Please. Stop. Just stop. Holy %$#%#$

Do you understand how ridiculous it sounds to say that JLin is as good as a PnR player as James Harden? I mean, I never thought that Linsanity would really be about JLin's fans being absolutely insane.

These kinds of comments, always so defensive about Lin, always trying to talk about Lin and why he is left out as not being equal to Harden...is honestly ruining this board. We all root for Lin, we all want him to do well. We all cheer for him. But for crying out loud, we want to also be able to talk about Harden without it always turning into something about JLin. Why can't that be?

Harden's TS% is 60%. Lin's is 54% - do you understand how big of a difference that is?

Harden is a better P&R player than Lin.

The best way to stop it is to have 48 minutes of Howard and Asik.
