Clutch City= 2 NBA Titles, League MVP, Finals MVP, Finals Sweep, Legendary Team, and much more. Crush City= Choked with a 4 run lead with 2 innings left. Promising young team at least. Other team on 610 and Kirby= who cares really, Lame coach, GM and owner. The Rockets are Houston's Team even though Texans get all the hype.
The Rockets are the best team in Houston. No doubt about that. They are also the 3rd most popular team in Houston. Not really any doubt about that either. So what? They are by far my favorite and it doesn't bother me if other people disagree.
Who cares? I like all these teams. I'm rooting for them all. Yesterday's loss, for me, was in the context of being a HOUSTON sports fan.
Yessir, this is the grind. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NQmQH_nU6Sc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The Rockets could have easily been in the same boat as the Astros 3-4 seasons ago... Morey and Les decided not to tank. We got Harden and then Howard, now we're in the contender mix. The Stros have young major talent and are a few years ahead of schedule when it comes to accomplishments. This thread is garbage. Not sure why I'm wasting my time.
A lot of these Houston fans probably hear a name like Chris Carter and think he plays for the Rockets... that's why Rockets are the third most important team in Houston.
The problem with the Rockets is that they are in the NBA, where upsets rarely happen and the better team always wins. The Astros being in the MLB Playoffs is good enough to give them a solid chance at winning it all because it is so random. The Rockets might be the best team in Houston, but the astros probably have a better shot at winning the championship.
Rockets are the best team in the city. Basketball is the best skilled, real, athletic sport. James Harden is the face of Houston and most popular athlete from Houston worldwide. Period.
