That makes sense except they aren't going to foul him out. He and Harden were called for basically the same fouls over the year. They'll just call blocks.

was gonna come in here to make this same exact post

at least 2-3 videos and multiple articles coming out every week on how to stop Harden or what a defense is or isn’t doing against him...pretty much nothing of the sort is done for any of the other top players

Cant recall articles for Steph, Durant, Kawhi, LeBron, Kyrie, Dame, PG, anyone.

Lol take it as an honor I guess.

Its called the unguardable tour for a reason and people want to figure out how to stop him because he is evolving the NBA right now.

I definitely think it's an honor. I haven't read all the articles or seen all the videos, but whenever one of these pops up, I'm under the impression it's more of a props to Harden for being this good. It's just interesting that he's the only player getting it, while some schmuck on ESPN is still trying to convince himself we need to have a conversation on who the best player in the world is. Harden took that title emphatically a year ago.

It's a psychological thing. I'd actually say it borders on a moral thing for most of your typical sports media people. All those guys you listed...they shouldn't be stopped. It never gets to a matter or can and how. Why would you even want to stop Curry? That's blasphemy to even suggest.

Harden, on the other hand, is someone that morally should be stopped. Think of all the ridiculous reasons that are presented for answering the question "why?" The one that sort of zips it all up is "He doesn't play basketball the right way" or "He's hurting the game." That has nothing to do with logic; it's an appeal to restoring some sort of morality that James Harden has apparently trampled on. Of course, it's actually because they just really hate him (or really in most cases, the city he plays for), but wrapping your hate in the guise of a just cause is a tactic as old as time itself.

The problem is that they aren't stopping him and nobody else is, so now they're flummoxed, and now we're starting to see the conversation shift from why to how. No longer is it a matter of trying to win minds with obviously superior arguments that Harden is evil. It simply needs to happen. Whether it's rule changes or some new system of defense or maybe even darker things like purposely injuring him, it's just objectively true that this guy needs to be stopped.

If you understand political zealotry, particularly in the media, you understand sports media zealotry, because they're all cut from the same cloth.

This is probably true, but it could and is a mixture of both. The fact that he is someone who must be stopped is a compliment in it of itself due to the fact that so many journalists, coaches and players have all tried to come up with different strategies to do so. These articles aren't lost on coaches either. I'm sure they read them, or at least someone in their tree does. It's just more ideas that they may not have thought of yet

When has an article been written dedicated to the Warriors moving screens? Only BBallBreakdown has ever touched thoroughly on the legality of certain players like Kawhi's constant traveling or Warriors plethora of illegal moves.

It's weird. So very weird. He's not a bad dude at all. If anything he's an example for people that aren't the most physically gifted that they can use guile and cunning to succeed.

There was an article written by a woman who interviewed Gwyneth Paltrow, and during the interview she (Gwyneth) told her she had to cut it short because she had to go to an event about some beauty products. The woman told her, in jest, "So that's how you do it. That's how you keep looking the way you do." to which Gwyneth said "No, I can't use their products due to my company's involvement with them. My company merely promotes them and helps them organize these events." She proceeded to say how angry it made her that Gwyneth had basically stolen her excuse from her. She wanted so badly for Gwyneth to be a product of these connections, instead of just a hard working woman who was willing to put herself out there in ways that this other journalist would not.

Maybe that's Harden. Showing everyone that you don't have to be an athletic specimen to be successful in sports. Maybe he's taking everyones excuses away from them like Gwyneth.

Getting him in foul trouble the first three quarters would help though. However his team seems to do fine without him against us for whatever reason.

The think the media focus on how to stop Harden is easily explained. His scoring output is off the charts, and no team focuses more of their defense to stop one guy than teams do with James Harden. I think that’s widely understood, even among people who may not be the biggest Harden fans. So of course that’s going to be a key to the series that people will be focusing on.

It's even easier to explain that that - people hate Harden. The media just wants to know how to shut him down so they can continue to hate Harden without that nagging feeling of guilt that goes along with hating someone who hasn't done anything wrong.
