The Rockets actually drafted pretty well considering we never really have any high draft picks in years. Just look at how well Harrell and Morris, the biggest problem is they didn’t get any meaningful minutes to develop here. I hope that’s not going to be the case here for Hartenstein and Clark...but probably will : (

Exactly, also it is a known fact that the Rockets get and give up big leads, right? So what difference does it make to not throw these guys in when they are up by 20 to develop, Rockets were gonna blow that lead anyway, at least we can get some development in between.

They'll be soon on other teams and maybe they'll end up being better than the old fart we'll get back for them...but at this point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Mike just want supposed shooters out there, nothing else matters, the fact that he plays McLemore more says it all, dude's another 6'5 sg, defense is ass and he's not even shooting well but hey, he let's it fly, that's all matters.

There is no reason Gary Clark should not be getting 10-12 minutes every night for the Rockets at backup PF.

lack of shot? Inability to successfully drive? Not as good defensively as we hoped?

Not letting Clark and Hartenstein, specifically Clark, get even a passing chance at development, is a mistake. Rockets aren’t losing anything by giving guys like Thabo less minutes.

    You basically described Thabo Sefolosha.

    At least Clark is young

Same for McLemore, he's shooting under 40% from the field and he's a shooter.

I’d trade Clark, Hart, unprotected first for Alec Burke and Eric Paschall.

Burke is a better defender than Ariza, and a much better player than House.
    Burke average 13.3 points in 24 minutes, take 6 3pt a game @39%.

GS got both for free in summer, now they can get a unprotected first rounder.

3 players should not sign this summer, 8 million Dallas
    Chandler, thabo, nene
Their feet are 79 years old.

I’d sign smailogic, Paschall, Burks, total 4 million against cap.

Nah. Chuck Hayes never dominated SL. Nor did Tucker or Battier.

Roleplayers can sometimes translate better in NBA games, as opposed to trashy SL pickup suited for TWill and Anthony Randolph.

I agree. Pick up games is not where guys like Clark excel. Clark is a role player that plays his best along side GOAT level stars. He is a glue guy that is fine doing what others won't. Even when Clark was shooting like ass, he was always making winning plays when he was on the floor.

It's really amazing how fast fans have forgotten what Clark was doing when Melo died. They all just remember him shooting poorly AS A ROOKIE.

Even with Clark's inconsistent shot......you still get

    1) Someone that can disrupt the passing lanes
    2) Someone that has a high BB IQ to make proper switches
    3) Someone that can rebound
    4) Someone that can provide weakside shotblocking.

There are real defensive advantages to playing him. It is at the margins. But still. The team needs defense. I would rather play Clark than Ryan Anderson or over taxing Tyson Chandler or Ben McLemore.

Hartenstein has Aron Baynes type goofy "i cannot believe he made that. Why does he keep making that?" potential.

Baynes tearing it up as Suns starting Center.

Any Rockets player shooting 35+ from the 3pt line should be celebrated. Put him in the Rockets HOF already.

It irritates me how Pringles will yank young players when they have a couple of bad moments.
First he puts them in in situations where it's hard to do well...Haven't gotten any minutes in the NBA in a while, playing with and against other back end guys in garbage time, thrown in out of the blue due to injuries...

And then if they don't come out smoking he buries them.

Even House last season, played really well for long stretches...Has a couple bad moments in the playoffs and then gets glued to the bench.
Guys can't develop if they can't play through a few bad moments.

It'd be one thing if the vets in front were setting it on fire. But I'd rather go through the season letting young guys learn and make mistakes than seeing vets that just can't get it done anymore like they used to and have no upside.

I don’t know why, the stuff Trez is doin in LA he wouldn’t have an opportunity to do here in Houston even if he was getting minutes. Our system is our system and as much as I hate it, it’s had some success but we play ugly basketball.
