The most enjoyable aspect to this story is that these intelligence operators are making a virtual lemonparty out of lemons in typical dirty fashion.

They're looking after Trump's best interests....by embarrassing the hell outta him after he threatened their credibility.

    But but but...Benghazi.

    They're NOT his daughter!!!!!!1111111111

...And at least his crony son-in-law has an excuse to give.

I'd normally agree with you in this case (that the other side is falling for the same failure for falling for fake news that speaks to their fantasies about their enemy.)

However ... parts of this story are confirmed by CNN which is probably the most reliable reporting news outlet despite their tendency to sensationalize.

What is confirmed to be true-

-high level intelligent officials confirmed to CNN
-the MI6 agent is considered a reliable source.
-Trump and Obama were briefed on this
-John McCain was given the initial report who met with Comey who is said to be investigating further.

What is NOT confirmed is if the FBI and other intelligence agencies will back up this information, if the FBI will pursue any charges (treason cannot technically be pursued since we are not officially at war with Russia).

CNN also said they would not report on the Golden Showers story because it's unconfirmed and explicit.

I think everyone here needs to take the story at the values that are presented.

YES this is huge if confirmed by US Intellgence. No we shouldn't speak as if this happened as a matter of fact. But CNN isn't some fake news site from Russia started by a 16 year old about how Hillary is running a child sex ring or that Obama is secretly a demon who smells like sulpher. CNN might not be perfect but it's very unfair for right wingers to paint a picture that they are as irresponsible as the Trump fake news feed we saw for the past two years +.

It's unconfirmed but this is still legit news that needs to be pursued further and if you aren't seriously alarmed by this that you truly are lost in the cult of Trumpland.

Also Trump continuing to sew doubt and pick fights with the intelligence community is no mistake. Keep in mind it's reported that these investigations started back in August, We know Trump and his team know that and if a report is ever to come out,

Trump is going to need all the PUBLIC doubt that he can get. Because where it will affect Trump is in the House which is basically the only place that can impeach Trump. If Trump is so tainted publicly that republicans don't want to go down with a sinking ship, they will turn on Trump and the 2/3 vote will be achieved to remove him.

So seeing doubt in the FBI/CIA/NSA is the first step for Trump to cover his backside if this report is ever confirmed and a special Congressional investigation is recommended which from my understanding comes down to the house which make that decision unfortunately based on what they can and can't get away with pursuing.

Are these 4Chan rumors true? Please tell me that the CIA isn't so gullible.

You calling the entirety of the CIA who are chalk full of field experts 'gullible" is akin to someone who only knows up to Algebra telling someone who got a D on a DiffyQ exam that they suck at math.

Let's get some myths out of the way before this thread keeps going.

Myth 1. Democrats and liberals are sore losers and blaming Russians for the election loss rather than hold their own DNC accountable.

    Facts:
    A. The DNC broke no laws but did violate their own rules on ethics. 4 of the top 5 leaders of the DNC were forced out of their jobs. This includes the leader of the DNC. The Democrats held those accountable who violated the ethics and cleaned house.

    B. The Russians actually committed felonies and espionage.

    C. Most liberals and Democrats aren't saying the outcome of the election would have been different if the Russians hadn't tried to influence the outcome. Very few people are, but there is no way to prove that it would have changed.

Myth 2. These types of acts happen all the time and the U.S. has done exactly the same even to allies like hacking Angela Merkel's phone.
    Facts:
    A. Nothing like this from a foreign power has ever happened to a U.S. election anywhere close the extent of what happened in 2016. The released intel briefing makes this clear while also providing evidence.

    B. In the past hacks of U.S. corporations from China the U.S. did react, and moved to directly work with China to stop these, and created the China United States Cyber Agreement.

    C. Even when the U.S. did hack Angela Merkel's phone they didn't use the information to try and change or influence the outcome of an election. The Russians most definitely did do that.

Any discussion on the issue is pointless if people keep arguing over these myths.

    Interesting answers from Trump.

1- Trump said Russia hack DNC. Finally admit it officially.
2- Trump said if Putin like Trump, guess what, that's called an asset, not a liability. Whoa. That's his answer to the question about whether he accepts that Putin ordered the hacking to help elect him.
3- Trump ignored the question asking him to declare once and for all that no one in his campaign had any contact with Russia. But he did said Putin will stop hacking once he's President.
4- Trump will ask his pick for director of national intelligence (Dan Coats) to come back with a major report on hacking w/in 90 days
5- Trump said BuzzFeed will suffer the consequences
6- Trump directly told CNN 'you are fake news'

Their was outrage when Obama's team (not even him personally) refused to let Fox participate in a press briefing. I hope the outrage will be similar here.

I'm sure Trump will have his wish granted to have 'fair criticism' from the MSM when he diametrically opposes and insults them every opportunity he gets. That will help his cause.

    Not a very bright man.

"I am going to be the greatest jobs producer that God ever created."

"Nobody cares about the tax returns. I won."

Trump doesn't know Carter Page? He was a foreign policy advisor to the Trump campaign.

For someone that depends on distrust in MSM by a large part of the population, I think it's smart for him to continue down that track. It's sad and part of the blame is on MSM themselves. But hey, we got RT and Breitbar news to pick up the slack!

Carter Page? Isn't he the very anti-American, very pro-Putin guy? Looks like we are moving toward being more like Russia! MAGA!, I mean MRGA!
