This is great! I hope they get Chuck working with the guys on defense. In my opinion, he's a heck of a resource. I always thought that for his size, the Chuckwagon was a hell of a defender when he was with the Rockets.
Pretty easy to get any position of power when you're the size of everyone's nightmare and 350 lbs. If he walked in my house and said, "I run this bit#h now!" I would say, "Yes sir! Here's the keys to my house. Can I make you something to eat? How about a brontasaurus burger?" Nah, just playin'. He's a smart dude and a hard worker.
Chuck Hayes is one of my all time favorite Rockets role players. It makes me really happy he's with the Rockets in any capacity. Also, do you think this will bring Hayesfan back?
If he can teach footwork and the ball strip...... Big butt, yes. But the all-time greatest stripper ever.
Hayes can teach melo or whoever is going to be our undersized pf some grit and how to defend despite being undersized. If a 6'4 /6'6 player can do it. Then a 6'8 to 6'9 pf should be able to do it.
I hope Chuck will be coaching defense and rebounding to Capela, Tarik and even Ryan Anderson. Nene can't do it all alone. Scouting should be a secondary role for Chuck, at the present time.
lol i still remember mike d'antoni with his dumb comments referring to chuch hayes' shutting down of amare stoudemire that one game in new york. of course amare got his 25 pts, but they were all on brad miller and fts.
