http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2010/08/rockets_heading_back_to_china.html The preseason schedule better not hamper the Rockets' readiness for the regular season. It will be tough. We know three things about the first week of the season. It will begin in Staples Center after the Lakers raise another banner and add to their collection of championship rings. The home opener will be against the strong Denver Nuggets (the Rockets might want to make a better impression with Carmelo Anthony next season than they did with Chris Bosh last season.) In between there will be a back-to-back. The full schedule will not be announced until Tuesday, but we can assume there will be a back-to-back in the first few days because they are playing on Tuesday and Saturday and are not a part of the Thursday television package. Assuming the NBA is not giving the Rockets three days off between games, they would have to play back-to-back in the first few days of the season. Opening against the Lakers, however, really is a pretty good way to start over, as if another example of this season being a mulligan for the Yao-less 2009-10 season. Consider it Game 8, with the Rockets back where the 2008-09 season ended. Either that, or it will be a good and rapid way to learn how they stack up compared to the league's best team.
I knew it would be a back to back...too early for teams to get 3 days off. Called it in the Dish...could be 3 days off, but I'm not counting on it. I say we play PHX, GSW or SAC on the road. LAC is playing Portland on oct. 27... Agreed or y'all got something else in mind?
Which had nothing to do with Bosh going to Miami, but don't let that keep you from impersonating The Queen.
Pretty tough way to start the season, but these Rockets always played better when faced with adversity.
I think like last year we will have a ridiculous road schedule and feel like this picture will become synonymous with the season.
I don't get it. Why does there HAVE to be a back to back? Oct 26- @ LA Oct 28- Game? Oct 30- Denver He says we're not apart of the Thursday television package. Does that mean national? If so, then that's okay, we can still have a game. If that means local included, then yeah he's right. Perhaps at the clippers on the 27th. The only OTHER fact isn't back to back, it is that we'll start the season with TWO road games.
