I didn't see this posted. http://blogs.chron.com/jeromesolomon/2009/06/hey_rockets_we_want_rubio.html
biggest difference between rubio and nash is that nash is a stupidly efficient shooter/scorer, when he chooses to be. rubio isn't. its a huge weapon to be missing.
Wasn't that developed with Nash and CP3 and Deron Wiliams, players like that within time. Look at where Chris Paul's shot has come from to where it was once. He is a great off dribble shooter and stop and popper. A consistent shot can be developed within time. Plus he's only 18 of course he will have things to work on, so did LeBron when he first came outta HS. Look at him now...
No one has said he'll immediately equal Nash's production. Everyone's said he needs to work on his scoring. The comparisons are how he handles himself in the transition and is a great passer, and those comparisons are accurate. He has plenty of time to develop his shot. He's only 18. Nash is what, 36?
Obsession with Rubio is unbelievable, I mean he's young and he's great but at least let's see how he fits with other NBA players.
Oh ok, I see what you mean now. I don't like trying to compare player's that are prospects to superstars in the league now basically cause you never know how they'll turn out. But sometimes thats the only thing that can show you what they could turn into. It seems awfully quiet now that everyone has made their splashes and now that the draft is over from the Morey camp.... maybe that means they're ready to pounce on something.
Is that just a general statement or is that directed to Rubio? It looks like he takes it aggresive to the whole and gets his points from the line. If he doesn't have a consistent shot than how else would he get his points... duh.
i can see why you would compare the 2, but i don't ever remember white chocolate ever having the court vision and IQ rubio possesses, dude is still a sick passer though
Didn't Rubio shoot 44% from 3 in Europe? Which is deeper than the NCAA 3. He shot somewhat poorly with a hurt wrist for the national team against us....yet still mad an immediate impression on some pretty influential guys like Kidd, and Kobe.
right?? this team has a very limited window with Yao, it seems....so let's bring on the 18 year old kid and ask him to be a key cog?? i don't get it.
Only deron improve his J some, nash has always been a really good shooter and CP was good as well, he just didn't look for his shot a lot.
forgive me for posting a hoopsworld article, but there are direct quotes from morey in it. i though it was worth sharing... written by fran blindbury too. sorry http://www.***************/Story.asp?story_id=13097
just a question, but what do you think has kept rubio from developing a shot yet? For someone who's been working on his game so long and playing against pro competition, i dont understand why he hasn't been able to work out a reliable jumper.
