This story and the one on Davis, it reminds me of the story last year on Redick, which almost made it seem like Redick was the pick, then it turned out he wasn't even considered, which went totally against the article.

good choice. why not draft the best guy out there when you can sign someone to fill your need. a rookie PF starting isn't going to help us get to the finals

IMO the Rockets are very high on Morris Almond. We'll take him #26 and trade for a legitim NBA PF later.

I agree with Morey on this. Especially when you are picking 26 in the draft. Take the Best Player Available or you will just end up payine someone a garunteed contract that cant play at all.

I believe Sean Williams or Glen Davis can contribute even as rookies cause we just need size/defense/rebounding at the PF spot, we have no size there whatsoever.

What exactly do you think those two can contribute as rookies?

Davis, if he can keep the weight off has some nice skills but him keeping the weight off is a long shot.

Williams really does not do anything perticularly well outside of blocked shots. He was a poor rebounder and certainly not a great scorer while he was in college. All of his hype are based on his percieved athleticism and shot blocking.

If Davis can't keep the weight off he will never amount to anything (see Oliver Miller) and Williams is a project at best.

I hope Marco Belinelli is there too..

    NBA Comparison: Ray Allen

Strengths: Despite his age he plays the game with maturity and intelligence, and has a great deal of experience … Ball handling ability is top notch as he can lead the fast break or take opposing guards off the dribble … Belinelli is one of the best shooters off the dribble anywhere in his age group … Even more impressive is that he needs little time to get his shot off thanks to his ultra quick release … Moves extremely well without the ball using an assortment of cuts and fakes to get open … Works very well off of picks and screens where he is superb off the catch and shoot … Possesses legit three point range … Mechanically he does everything well no matter if he is off balance he always keeps his body fully squared … Defensively he possesses great anticipation skills and quick hands which enable him to disrupt passing lanes … Does not get intimidated by pressure situations nor when facing physical defenders … Mid-range shooting has improved as he is starting to fuse this with his long range shooting and slashing ability …. Extremely coachable player who has a solid work ethic … Athletically he shows solid leaping ability and quickness … A great finisher in the open court

Now thats what Im talking about...

I really hope that the Rockets move up the draft some how up in the 15 - 20 round pick and draft a Thaddeus Young or that Byars who can possibly be our future star for years to come... Especially since our Tmac is aging and have about at least a good 2-3 years left before the tank runs out...

That is one of the most ridiculous post I have ever seen. It is complete B.S. to say in your opinion a team likes a guy when you have no knowledge of the situation or at least state no knowledge. There is absolutly no evidence to support your claim.

I happen to like Almond. But to make a post like this is just terrible. Good thing you are not a writer or no one know what to believe.

Considering the Rockets international scout Gianluca Pascucci is italian and based there they should know all they need to know about him.

I think Rudy Fernandez can be scratched off that list. He has buyout issues and he's apparently already getting MLE level offers in Europe which NBA rookie contracts can't compete against.

best talent available is all that matters to me...we have enough trade assets for a legit PF or whoever who are looking for... Plus we have the FULL MLE we can use...

This is great news. Afflalo, Byars, Pruitt, Tucker, Almond... Guys we dont really need are the best players available. I agree a rookie PF (Fazekas, McRoberts, Davis, etc) won't offer very much. A guy like Afflalo or Almond can bring something to the table now. It also makes packaging Snyder and Head for a PF that much easier.
