[CHRON] Rockets more likely to try to land Eric Gordon

Whether you like Morey or not, you have got to admit, he sure keeps us on our toes.

 

Dwight is not staying unless we pair him with Williams. Period.
Gordon is a great player, I loved his days on the Clippers... but he's not enough to convince Dwight to stay, should we get him.

 

If this man can stay healthy....watch out

 

I have this vision of Daryl Morey with two phones in his hands while checking his blackberry and having 4 other teams on hold via a conference call. Dude probably isn't sleeping the next 48 hours.

So no Goran if we get Gordon?

 

My theory is that this "We are after Eric Gordon and NOT Deron Williams" info is given to Jonathan Feigen by the Rockets for one purpose: appease Goran Dragic, who is probably freaking out in Slovenia right now.

 

If we land Dwight my wishlist is

1. Deron Williams
2. Josh Smith
3. Eric Gordon
4. Pau Gasol
5. Kevin Garnett
6. Ray Allen

 

Somebody tell Feigen that the Dragic cap hold is less than the Courtney Lee cap hold. At worst, all we have to do is renounce Lee instead of Dragic if we sign Gordon.

 

I like Gordon, but he's missed 123 games in 4 seasons. That's scary.

 

We should go after Eric Gordon regardless of Howard. Gordon is on his way to becoming an elite SG, and he's still young at only 23yrs of age.

 

So which is better?

A slim shot at Howard and Williams?

Or a long-term Gordon and Josh Smith?

 

I'm not a huge Gordon fan. I prefer to stay away from undersized shooting guards. Depends on how much money we're talking? Anything over 12 mil would be too much for me.

 

Actually, it is possible to trade for Dwight Howard, keep Goran, keep Lee and still sign Gordon to a max offer ($12.9 million) if you make the right deals.
