how often do conservatives in this board accuse liberals of being intolerant, ignorant, bigots, racists, illogical, sheep?
Sheep and ignorant have been tossed around on this board by the conservatives. The other words have more to do with the language thrown around that has been aimed at people of faith, regardless of political affiliation. We have a Muslim on this board who I'm pretty sure is not a Republican that has been attacked pretty hard (sometimes justifiably so) for his viewpoints with that type of language. And as there are a lot of Christians on this board who are both Republican and Democrat, and even unaffiliated, it is again not political when Christians have been painted with the broad brushes of being intolerant or illogical as has been done in many threads. Should I search for the links for you where posters have basically said that anyone who believes in God, creation, the Bible, etc. is illogical or can you find them for yourself? I don't recall them saying "Only Republican Christians are illogical." You are applying a meaning to my words that were not intended nor implied. But, if it is your opinion that it is the left that is the side always throwing insults around, maybe you should avoid making this into a political pretzel.
I never said that. You said that. Problem is you never mentioned the insults the the right hurl around. Like socialists, communists, un-American, traitors, and nazis. Max didn't leave because of poo-flinging or name-calling whether political or not. He left because he didn't want to have a science vs faith debate.
He left the board all together because he didn't want to have a friendly debate free of mud slinging? Weak sauce.
Maybe he didn't see people questioning his faith or him having to defend his faith as just a friendly debate. I base all this on the thread he last posted in and said farewell.
Bull ****. Max was in countless debates on just that topic. The wonder is that he participated in as many as he did, considering the BS he had to put up with.
I don't get it. You just told me a post before this that he didn't leave because of poo slinging but rather because he didn't want to debate religion vs science. This implies that he couldn't handle a normal debate. Now you are saying he left because the debates weren't really friendly. Which goes back to my main point.
I don't really know his posting history so I can't say. Should I not be? Edit: This will be my last post on this subject as it is silly that I've made so many posts in this thread about this matter! Gotta keep that post count down!
read my post again Maybe he didn't see people questioning his faith or him having to defend his faith as just a friendly debate. are you saying if people debate about faith it automatically becomes unfriendly? here's the page where he Max left. Tell me where did anyone insult or fling-poo at him.
OK I lied. Yes, on this board, I do think it automatically becomes unfriendly. You point me to a thread on religion that didn't turn unfriendly. Anytime a religion thread pops up I want to post the old "I like where this thread is going" pic with the the boat and the iceberg. Heck, a lot of them start off plainly by attacking people of faith in the opening post.
I pointed you to the thread were Max last posted and said goodbye. Maybe there are other threads where people have insulted him but I haven't read them yet. But D&D in general is unfriendly more times than not. Do you think someone wants to have a friendly and honest debate about healthcare when he open's a thread with the subject "Questions of Health (s)care" or "B-Ho....."
I don't know if he was ever personally insulted, but guess what? Just like it would be a personal insult to a black man if I started saying insulting things about black men in general, I'm sure it was insulting to MadMax that believers were being insulted "in general." "Christians are ignorant illogical morons! LOL BUT NOT MADMAX!" I doubt that ever sat well with him. Well golly gee! Read this post that some dope made earlier in the thread: Seems you agree with him. So why are you arguing with him again?
I agree with what you said about the D&D in general. I just don't think it had a direct hand with Max leaving.
