Sacramento releases David Webber, two others

    October 23, 2002

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- David Webber was released by the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, ending his hopes of playing on the team with brother Chris.

Corsley Edwards and Jason Sasser also were waived by the Kings, reducing the roster to 14 players. Edwards was Sacramento's second-round draft pick.

Though David Webber impressed the Kings' coaches with hard work during training camp, he knew he had almost no chance to make the team. Sacramento already has 13 players with guaranteed contracts, and guard Damon Jones signed with the Kings last Friday.
