Do NOT sign him nor Lebron to a 5 year max.

These are the old timers that are going to be getting slaughtered by the new generation of this league if they are the primary options on their teams over the next 5 years.

If you sign a 33 year old to a 4+ year max, you are NOT winning a ring. You may make the playoffs but you’re not taking it all.

KD GreekFreak Kahwi Sixers Harden are going to run circles around teams led by 34-5-6-7 year olds

I vote no, he is hurt most of the time. That is not likely to improve.Too old for a long term max contract.

Morey wouldn't have traded away all of those assets for CP3 if he was just going to let him walk. It's almost guaranteed CP3 will get a long term extension. We just have to hope it's not a max.

Not sure anymore. He looked really injured or just plain bad. At one stage looked like he aggravated his injury again

I noticed that he had hardly any quickness to drive around big men that we're guarding him. They kept on staying in front of him.

You”re past is always a indicator for the future and I”m not sure I want my second best player at 32 to be a max player with his multiple injury worries for the next 5 years. No more Mac and Yao injury plagued with years.

The saving grace is he and Harden have shown they can coexist when both are healthy.

People are thinking CP3 might get denied a max deal, he might deny US.

If we underachieve this year, I doubt he'll be sticking around to watch Harden play lazy and stupid basketball for another season.

And if that happens, someone will throw a max at Capela, is Jordan still gonna take that paycut to get here?

It's not like he is a poor man......that Clipper contract was not too shabby.

I like Chris Paul but he has to be signed to a 2-3 year deal.

I dun care if he gets 28-30 million but not 5 years. Preferably only 22 million a year though for his leadership.

He can only play 60 games a year.

I think LeBron is a clear outlier. Obviously, neither of us can predict the future, but just based on current play, I don't see LeBron declining until the latter half of year 4, on that 5 year contract.

Dude might be the Tom Brady of basketball. Exceeding expectations based on where so many older players have fallen.

When did Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Abdul Jabbar start declining to be sub-top 20? I don’t know, this is a legit question I wonder.

He has already shown small signs of declining. In 2 years time he will not be the same plus injuries.

Id do a 4 year 88 mil deal. Last 2 years he could get a trade option or Opt out. 2 years guarnteed. I mean comon the guy is making good money now and is barely playing. Why does he need max. Trade Anderson in the offseaon, and give Some free agent max money he needs to be next to Harden. He is breaking down, and wants to be somewhere long term, this just really hinders the teams options. If you think you can win with him alone, then this summer do it. I would not honestly.

There may be a debate wrt CP3 but Lebron? Come on... LeBron next to Harden would mean dynasty. You don't need a third start with those two

    Agreed

    James also needs Paul's leadership.

He should take an Ariza type deal - frontloaded contract that starts at 25 and drops to 18 over 4 years.
