    Part of greatness is availability.

He needs to be healthy during the playoffs.

Debbie downers all over this thread.

It's true OP, I was thinking this the other day. He is incredibly, almost indescribably good and a genius on the court. That's not all, but he has something that not all superstars have: he knows how to pace himself in the regular season and comes to the playoffs stronger. Some may remember this quality from Hakeem's days.

There's literally nothing he can't do. If he were 6'7, he'd be the best player in NBA history and have multiple rings already.

I would have preferred to have Paul instead of James in that situation.......

Totally agree. The only thing cp3 has actually lost is his first step/burst. He used to get into the lane off of it so easily, but has been relying on picknroll since the clipper days (after his first big surgery with the hornets). But you're right, truly great players find other ways to re-invent their game to make them just as valuable in other ways to their team. Few are able to compensate for a waning athleticism with overall IQ, team defense, intangibles, a re-invented iso game (33 year olds should be top 10 iso players, much less 33 year old 6ft pgs), choosing when to save your burst/drives to the lane. Chris Paul is doing it beautifully. I literally just thought to myself again how incredible it is that he's capable of what he's doing at his age. Very few explosive point guards are able to do this when they lose their vertical & first step.

But ya, we can only pray for his health to be overall good this season haha.

James Harden has games where he looks like the greatest offensive player on earth, and then he has games where he looks really frustratingly slow or overly chill.. but he is perfectly complemented by chris paul who is consistent in his game and demeanor. thats what i love about this pairing :)

Wouldn't put it past him to have a 50/40/90 season. HIs minutes will be managed more carefully and there are more offensive weapons on the floor.

Chris Paul is the key to unlocked that potential Melo has never truly brought out, although Melo is a little less athletically inclined now he can still make it work. Expect a 20ppg+ year starting, or a lock for 6moy if coming off the bench for Melo.

Pretty sure carmelo is older than cp3 by like 2 years (i didnt check)
But i definetely agree, cp3 looks like hes just entering his prime. I see how people can think we overpaid him but im just happy to see 4 more years of cp3 in rockets red.

HE IS. And it's fantastic. The lack of extra fat/muscle on his arms are making him more mobile and a better ball-handler.
