I like Aldrich a lot. He's a solid player on both ends. And he should be staying over Dieng because he's the better player. Won't hurt the team. Will help. So normally I'd agree with you here. But Aldrich is owed for next season. We're trying to free up cap for next summer, not clog it up more. And I really can't see Minny dropping him for Brewer. If they would do kj and Ennis for Aldrich (probably wouldn't) then were adding more guaranteed salary to the books next summer.
Not overestimating or underestimating leverage. Just threw out trade premise that might work for Philly to extracts much value as possible for Noel. They're going to fool around and get hardly anything for him.
Didn't bother to read every post so maybe someone has pointed it out, But did you guys know he has a brother that plays for the Magic?
So is Brewer > Durant because we don't have to give up anything due to him already being on the roster? That's faulty logic. Your reasoning makes no sense.
He's certainly a raw project still but I agree with this. He may see the floor in garbage minutes, severe foul trouble, and injury but it's good he will be travelling with the team and practicing with them before heading back to the DLeague hopefully in 4-6 weeks.
Any chance we can start bringing him along for the Playoffs Maybe after the all star break? Rocket River
You will have to see this video to believe it. It's been a long time since I've seen a prospect develop as quickly as Onuaku. Check out the pass at the 1:20 mark. Are you kidding me? Is this the same guy? Oh yeah, by the way they did win the game too.
Nanu appears to have good basketball instincts. He is not as violent as Harrell, but rather plays more of a cerebral game. Sort of like a larger version of Chuck Hayes.
Not sure I see the Chuck Hayes comparison. 1) Nanu makes free throws 2) Has offensive touch 3) Plays above the rim
I think people who have followed him knew that he was a good passer. I only realized it recently, but he's definitely got it. Will be a nice part of his game. I can see the Hayes comparison, but Nanu definitely has a better touch and he's 3-4 years younger than Hayes was when he came out of college. Also looks a tiny bit slimmer, which tells me the Rockets are understanding the league trend of needing quickness/speed as much as strength at the C position. Will be a good backup next season. Not sure he's ready for the big league right now but who knows. We basically haven't practiced all of January and a good portion of December so we will be practicing more often February onwards and I think that could accelerate his development if the Rockets call him up a lot.
Nanu iMHO isn't ready yet, at only 20 years old he's still getting a feel of the game, if you put him in the NBA he's gonna stink it up as everything's still too fast for him (ie Clint capela on his rookie year). He might be better next year though, training camp with the team+dLeague+preseason and he might make Capela obsolete. Its crazy, one of Mchale's biggest selling points is he was a HOF big man who could mentor our big players, we get rid of him and suddenly we have so many good big prospects.
