http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-10/25/content_385331.htm Liu Wei, a starting guard for the Chinese national team, was among three players released by the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Liu joined the Kings shortly before their tour of Beijing and Shanghai with the Houston Rockets earlier in the month. He is a star with the Shanghai Sharks, Yao Ming's former club team in China. The Kings also released center Anwar Ferguson and guard Tony Bland. They have 16 players left on their roster.
No surprise to me based on his 3-yrs CBA games I watched. Obviously, Kings recruited him mainly for marketing reasons in China Exhibition Games... ... sad to say but this guy has a loooog way to go before he enters the NBA. However, we do take comforts that he got the chance to practice & learn with versatile PG like M.Bibby, B.Jackson, hope all these experiences will helpful to him in his future career....
