Chase Budinger should not be playing PF or treated like a person in our future plans

    In a couple of years, the Rockets are getting the Knicks 2011 and 2012 draft picks, which may be very high and I think there will be good point forwards available in these drafts.

    Former 2nd rounder Chase Budinger will be in his mid-20s by then. He is clearly not a point forward. If you see TMac play last night you'll know what I mean. He has plateaued and will be in decline by 2011 and 2012 so we should get rid of him to start giving minutes to pre-develop the Knicks 2011 and 2012 picks.

    So, would you do this trade:


    Budinger

    for

    Expiring Contract
    1st rounder.

    I think it's a no brainer because it's gonna be a 1st instead of 2nd rounder.

    Most 2nd rounders don't last one season in the L. Certainly possible, or even likely, for rookie 2nd rounder to decline in a couple of years. Hell even 1st rounders do that sometimes.

    Nobody can predict the future. Those picks belong to Rockets now, but maybe already traded to some other team by then. Cbud is raw now, but maybe already developed into some real good player by then. He has all the tools.

    It's clear that Chase isn't our leading scorer, and I agree with the group on Clutchfans who thinks any person who isn't our leading scorer should be traded for someone who could be.

    I had trouble with the poll options though, but chose "of course".

    While this thread is very premature, I think all of you are crazy if you think that CH is going to be banned. However, while I disagree CBUD, will be on the decline, I would have to trade Budinger for a 1st if possible. He is a very 1 dimensional player at this point, and that is the reason why no one would give up a 1st for him. At this point he is more valuable to us than to others.

    I think in time he can go from being a below average 7th man like he is now to being a below average starter or good bench player. That's fine for less than 1 million per year.
