Would ya'll rather see CP25 focus more on his defense this year than offense? He has all the tools to be a great defender but i felt last season he was asked to contribute more on offense so that in turn led to his defense declining. Now that we have D12, maybe he can go back to playing great defense like his rookie season. What do you guys think?

Yeah I would like to see him add a little more consistency on his defense this season as well. I also hope he adds some arc to his 3pt shot. A lot of them go down but the are always so damn flat. They remind me of Eddie Griffins 3pt shots.

with dh12 cp25 can be more aggressive on the defensive end.. if he gets beat dh12 will be there to protect the rim.. i see a lot of fast break points coming for this young rockets team!!

Rockets fans would like James Harden to focus more on his defense than offense (before Chandler Parsons).

I believe Lin and Parsons would be better at D. If Harden and TJ get better at man D we'd have a pretty good team. Defense wins championships!

He needs to work on his stamina maybe. I remember, odly, his defense was better his rookie year when he had limited mins.

just left defenders blow by him so that dwight can get 5 blocks a game would be a great improvement. Thus a rocket would win the defensive player of the year award.

Then dwight could bring the time out like Olajuwon and say "I couldn't do it without my teammates"

I think we will see a natural improvement in Parsons, on both ends of the floor. He is still very young and is learning the nuances of the NBA game. I agree with another poster that having Howard behind him will allow Parsons, and all the Rockets really, to play a more aggressive style on the defensive end.

I just hope that having Dwight doesn't spoil our players. With a perennial Defensive POY candidate at center, and also having Asik to a slightly lesser extent, I don't want to see our players put Dwight in the position to cover their mistakes. The easiest way to neutralize DH12 is to get him in foul trouble early while he tries to clean up the mess.

Who would have thought Garcia would be the lockdown defender on Durant rather than CP? His defense will only get better with experience, he has the tools but just needs more refining. That is where McHale won't help much.

Honestly, I'd rather him just keep doing what he's doing. It's working for him, so why change and risk ruining his consistency? His height allows him to get it off with that low arc, so it's not like that's an issue.

Statistics show his D was worse than Harden's
He could't guard Monta Ellis, but his offense was great.

It really depends on whether the team wants to sign Parsons again when his contract expires. If the team wants Parsons to stay, then I would want him to focus on defense. If Parsons were to be traded, then he should stand pat and keep shooting his way to perennial stardom just so the team can sell high.

for real man, it was like an optical illusion...let's just hope he improves again this season...good defense is in a lot of ways a function of winning...if we keep on winning I except everyone to get better...i think last season Harden was trying to establish himself, well he did, and now with Dwight he has to have championships on his mind so I think his D will improve too...not too mention how huge it would be if we could keep Asik/Dwight on the floor for all 48 minutes...i think everyone on the team was a "minus" player when Asik sat

    Kobe on Parsons

Do you think he would say that Parsons can "rise to the challenge defensively" after he lured Howard out of LA?

Being a Florida Gator fan I am real happy to see Parsons succeed in the NBA. I'll admit that I'm surprised he has turned out to be this good and especially this soon. He will continue to work hard on improving his game and he could end up having an even better year.
