Hey FREAK, You like Mars Electric? Where did you hear of them? I saw them at Trees in Dallas and they were really good!! Here is my run down: Mars Electric - Beautiful Something Tracy Chapman - New Beginnings Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want Kidd Rock - Devil Without a Cause (I got it free ok?!?!) Blink 182 - Enema of the State Lenny Kravitz - 5 The Police - Synchronicity Incubus I am pretty diverse as you can see, when it comes to music anyway! ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
Hoop-T -- Haven't quite decided how I like Mars Electric yet, just got the CD. They sound promising, although a bit formulaic (totally made for radio). I can't remember at the moment how I heard of them, although I'm sure it was on the web somehow. I believe they've been opening for Vertical Horizon, is that when you saw them? ------------------ "Okay KG, next time down, you give Cousin Billy his turn, then he'll give Uncle Joe his turn, then we'll give Shaq a turn." -Rudy T, in the Dream Team 2000 huddle
Freak, Yes, they did open for Vertical Horizon, who was also good live.....surprising. You are right, Mars Electric is a "radio" band, but who knows, they have an interesting sound. ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
Santana - Sacred Fire Live Mike Stern - Odds & Evens Tears for Fears - Elemental Julian Lennon - Photograph Smile Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile Eric Johnson - Venus Isle Little River Band - Greatest Hits (huh?) Fuel - don't know the name of the cd Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want and a bunch of my production CD's - stuff I've recorded - Save Our Rockets Radio, other production themes, etc - so I could hear what they sound like on different stereo systems. KAGY: I love Brother Cane! ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com [This message has been edited by Jeff (edited April 22, 2000).]

TheFreak, You like Supergrass? They are the best British band at the moment, and totally underrated. People hype Oasis but no group has the diversity of Supergrass. SpaceCity, Air - Moon Safari...great choice. When I put that on it toally relaxes me What I like to listen to at the moment are - Air, Supergrass, Blur, Moby, Destiny's Child and if I'm feeling like some old stuff, I'll put (early)Queen on. ------------------
I'm watching the Lakers and Kings game and ran outside to get the CD's, so my old failing memory wouldn't make me a liar. In no particular order: Clash ... London Calling (Mick and Joe doing it!!!) Jonny Lang ... Lie To Me (kid can wail) Tom Cochrane ... Mad Mad World (His first solo: Life truly is a highway, baby) B.Springsteen ... Born to Run (put it in to get pumped for the concert the other night) Santana ... Sacred Fire (This burns!!! Absolute dynamite sheet, saw that concert too) Bob Marley/Wailers ... Uprising (My fourth or fifth copy: One of my favorites of all time) The Cult ... Ceremony( Dang, I love this album) Ry Cooder ... Buena Vista Social Club ( a must for anyone who drinks tequila) Van Morrison ... Moondance (panty remover from 1970) Miles D. & Quincy J. ... Live at Montreaux (title says it all)
sid, yes I love Supergrass, got all their albums. Great pop songwriters/arrangement. It also doesn't get much better than early Queen either (Sheer Heart Attack, Night at the Opera, News of the World, and The Game are my favorites). I can't believe Popeye likes the Cult (one of my absolute favorite bands)...I didn't know old guys liked them... Hoop-T : If you like Mars Electric, you should listen to the Marvelous 3 (Hey! Album). ------------------ "Okay KG, next time down, you give Cousin Billy his turn, then he'll give Uncle Joe his turn, then we'll give Shaq a turn." -Rudy T, in the Dream Team 2000 huddle
Holy crap, Jeff, that means Brother Cane has TWO fans now! Whooo hooo! Maybe they'll get back together again! I feel awful. I always loved their singles but never bought the albums, so I was of no help to them when they needed it. Now that I'm totally into them, I've gone back and read some of the press clippings on their website-- little depressing to read "If this album doesn't move like 500,000 units, the label will probably have to explore its options" and what not... PS: DID YOU KNOW that Damon Johnson (singer/lead guitarist/songwriter for Brother Cane) has joined the Damn Yankees for their summer tour this year? I'm not kidding. ------------------ Anyone who advocates the use of violence should be beaten, tortured, and killed (painfully if possible).
Freakster Yeah!!!!!! And, some of us can aim real good too! My kids tell me I'm still pretty cool. At least that's how I read: "You're strange, dad. Real strange!"[/i]
