I think there's a wide range of opinions as to Clint's real value. Our last image of him was against Golden State, the one team where he hasn't factored in as much. Yes, he's been spoonfed from James & Chris, as he's progressed....and I know many see him as easily replaced. We have attempted to move him too.
But, I think CC's extremely underrated on this board. The guy is putting up 16 and 12 with good interior defense, including the ability to switch on the exterior..He's stepped it up against the best big men in the playoffs...come back from injury multiple times.. .He's a top 5-6 center. Contrary to the belief of many at present, I see that contract as a good deal.

So, for various reasons, his real value is debatable.

What's his value in a trade? Give me some thoughts on the contract too.
Perhaps CC is most valuable to us.

    Montrezl Harrell
But he is only half of the price of cc.

Harrell is as good as capela if they are playing the same minutes.

Except for the rebounds and defense.

a decent 1st round pick plus some decent players to match salary is his value on the trade market IMO

a positive asset, but teams aren’t giving up any prime assets for him

he is pretty good against the vast majority of teams in this league, but his skill is limited, he’s soft, and he’s been very Harden-dependent

Harrell might be the better scorer, but Capela is a vastly superior rebounder, rim protector, and defender. If you thought our current rebounding woes were bad, replacing Capela with Harrell would make sure we average 5 less boards a game.

Morey have Harrell away in that deal as a filler. Imo Morey lost the cp3 trade..

Crazy thing is, Harrell hates the rockets

Crazy thing is Harrell isn't good enough to get to pick and choose where he goes. Say what you want about CP but he can still be one of the best 2 or 3 players on the court at any given time. Can't say the same about anyone else the Rockets traded in that deal. Trading a bunch of guys who at best rate as solid starters or elite bench warmers is a smart trade if you are getting a player who still can be one of the very best players on the court in nearly every matchup. I'm not faulting Harrell/Bev/LouWill/etc - I like those guys, but there is a clear ceiling for hustle/lightning in a bottle types of guys without a star or two to lead them.

I do not see how anyone could have watched the 2019 season and still claim this guy can guard the perimeter.

I still cringe when I think about how his contest point on jumpshots was lower than CP3 or Gordons. And I mean he could literally not touch Klay Thompsons elbow on an iso pull-up if he wanted to.

Clint Capela had less blocks and steals in the 2019 WCSF than Nene.

    You read that right.

God just thinking about this makes me hate MDA.

Nene literally didnt miss a single shot all postseason either.

Capela is seriously average as an interior defender, at-best. His saving grace is he is good on the defensive boards. But he took a step back on that this past season.

    + Production
    + Annual improvement
    + Age
    + Mobility

    — Limited skills
    — Weak
    — Big men are of least importance

I think Clint fetches a solid first and starter or a couple quality role players.
