Lets say Lebron goes back to Cleveland and they draft Joel Embiid. PG: Kyrie Irving, Jarrett Jack SG: Dion Waiters, CJ Miles SF: Lebron James, Alonzo Gee PF: Anthony Bennett, Tyler Zeller C: Joel Embiid, Spencer Hawes, Anderson Verajao How good is this team? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Gp7PX7hYUFQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Looks pretty solid if Embiid ends up really good. Wonder how putting Hawes next to Embiid would look.
Why does Tristan Thompson (who was very solid and averaged a double double) disappear and have Bennett's sorry butt start over him? Lol
No way LeBron goes back to play with Embid. He'll take a couple of years to develop. No, the Cavs will have to trade the pick for Love for Lebron to go back.
That's true, I missed that. I figured Bennett is still 21 years old. I didn't realize Thompson was a #4 pick, what a terrible draft.
PG - Irving/Jack SG - Waiters/CJ Miles SF - LeBron/Thompson/Gee PF - Love/Bennett C - Hawes/Verajao/Plumlee vs PG - Irving/Jack SG - Waiters/CJ Miles SF - LeBron/Thompson/Gee PF - Bennett/Thompson C - Embiid/Hawes/Verajao/Plumlee
LeBron on any team in the East = #1/#2 seed. Add Irving and another superstar / Embiid? Guaranteed Finals, barring injuries.
I struggle to see Embiid grasping NBA defense at this point of his career. But Lebron as an addition makes pretty much any team a contender. This team would be the favorite in the East. The offense would be insane. Not sold on the defense though.
Will the Cavs have cap room to pick him up in 2015 if LeBron picks up his option in Miami? Might be the best outcome for both. LeBron gets one more run with the three Amigos, then starts the prodigal son returns storyline for 2015-16 season. The young Cavs get a year of experience to prepare for contending after the return of LeBron.
I don't see why teams don't learn about drafting centers #1. The NBA is a point guards and wing players league now. The center position is a relic of the past...much like runningbacks in football. No NFL team would draft a runningback #1 these days. Teams should learn from the Blazers drafting Greg Oden over Kevin Durant. Centers are important to get boards and clog the key on defense, but not with a #1 pick. Grab one in the second round or something.
don't see why he would want to go back to cleveland. joke owner, joke organization, who the hell is the coach? kyrie injury prone and who else would raise an eyebrow besides the #1 pick? lbj is in win now mode, not let's develop this #1 pick. plus he doesn't like cleveland growing up in akron.
Never draft for need at the top pick. Besides, when all contenders are centered around no center, just take Wiggins or Parker
