Given it was his first time playing in a NFL game ever, in the loudest stadium, with the toughest defense... Not really an area of concern.

Best pass rush in the NFL versus a suspect o-line (including banged up Duane Brown) and no viable running game due to injury.

We were basically in desperation mode that last drive. That's not on Case.

Eh. One was on a 3rd and 8 where Houston and Hali came basically free and totally creamed him. He admittedly should have just ate it there, but tried to throw it away and was late with the windup. That's the anti-Schaub move. Whereas Matt would've turtled immediately. That's the kind of risk we haven't dealt with in years.

The 2nd one was just... well... you'd think Keenum would know that Newton is a turnstyle by the end of the game. Unfortunately he had no where to step up but to his left (because, surprise, Brooks was beat too). Played right into Hali's hands. Splat. GG.

Case will probably be more careless with the ball than Matt. But at this point, I think that's a risk we should live with.

If shaub had just decided to not throw the ball in the Seattle game maybe we probably wouldn't have lost that game and probably not be a 5 game losing streak. Really you can't blame newton too much on that last sack. KC has a real good defense.

He was blindsided on one and walked into another one... He needed a back with him, but Kubiak thought otherwise. If Arian Foster was in this game, the Texans win this ball game btw. Not only is Arian a great blocker, but he is terrific if given the ball in space in check down situations. Arian wouldve definitely helped during those last two stalled drives. And he is only gonna get better about speeding up his progression reads. Keenum knows he couldve won the game, and if given another chance, he most likely will. He is a very smart QB.

If Schaub took any of those hits, he wouldve been out for the season. And besides, the Texans wouldnt have been in position to compete.

Out of the 7 years Schaub has been here, he eats that sack probably 98% of the time. Suddenly this year, Schaub has decided to not only take risks, but to take some really dumb ones.

    I ain't sayin' you're wrong... but...

Arian also probably would've scored on 1st and goal at the 1.

We really needed him back there to protect Case and catch balls out of the backfield. Losing him so early was devastating.

    I don't think so.

It's probably the only area of concern I left that game with.

With all the crap wrong with this 2-5 team, with idiots for coaches and a clueless GM, why the hell are we even talking about this?

Kubiak didn't do Case any favors on those plays. He sent everyone wide and didn't give Case any extra protection. if Tate and the Jones were back there to protect he would have had more time. Case didn't need a million Receivers on those plays.

This pretty much to a T.

Derek Newton should have been part of the trio that was released yesterday.

I haven’t seen enough of Case play to know whether this is an area of weakness or just a few bad passes. But he didn’t seem to accurate on the short quick throws. The Hopkins end zone throw, a slant to AJ80 (which was behind him but AJ caught it) and a few others I recall seeing. Anyone have any insight on his accuracy on short & quick routes? Besides that I’m very impressed with his precision on the deep ball, his mobility and his poise.

Sounds like something Kubiak would say. You must of thought Case had great protection

does Kubiak's offense have any blitz read? a quick throw, slant routes, screens? the last 2 possessions they were blitzing left and right.. no adjustments whatsoever on the playcalling

If anything we need him for depth. He sucks but he might be the best we have at the moment.

Part of the problem. He was supposed to be our "depth" but now has been thrust into a starting role..... Quessenberry and Brennan Williams sadly would have been better options as rookies than Newton.

    I'm miserable now.
