That's unbelievable she was using all those drugs. I thought they meant prescription drugs and sleep apnea but guess not. I don't know what the hell she thought she was doing. At her age, that is pretty dumb to even go near cocaine and heroin. Even ecstasy seems risky for someone at her age and condition. She robbed herself. I guess she as a true drug addict who couldn't stop. I wonder how long that had been going on?
Ecstasy can have elements of either heroin or speed, depending on what they are based on. So in this case the traces of heroin could be from the ecstasy. But that's not to say that she should be using hardcore drugs to begin with, especially at her age
Even more amazing, she took all that then got on a plane. Though I'm guessing she was very used to that at this point. But can you imagine being on cocaine and ecstasy and going to the airport? How long those things stay in your system? Maybe it was from a few days beforehand.
Somehow didn't expect this, I really thought she turned her life around, especially with the revival of Star Wars and her larger role. Guess she played a fool out of everyone and never really stopped doing drugs.
Or, perhaps, being thrust back in the spotlight does rekindle some old vices... she was back in the premier scene, the interview scene, the national spotlight/making appearances seen, publicity scene... that does lend itself to picking up some old habits that were once considered "normal" when she was a regular at all of these events. Star Wars reboot killed Carrie Fisher?
Also possible. But all this just shows how prone to relapse many drug users are, you'll never be free of the urge.
Hardest thing about addiction... you tend to remember the good times and forget the bad. I really believe she had changed her life... and being back in the thick of things helped push her towards a relapse.
Maybe she just liked getting high. I'm not saying that to criticize just saying sometimes it's that simple
People with bipolar disorder, like Fisher, often use any and alk drugs to quiet the symptoms - to self-medicate.
