Come on... 1.) Snag Melo for MLE. 2.) Lock up Capela to 4-5 year deal done. 3.) Find a home for Ryno. PG: Chris Paul, MCW SG: Harden, Gordon, Green SF: Melo, Ennis, Melton PF: Tucker, Melo, fillers C: Capela, Nene, Zhou Qi Add any pieces we get for Ryno *lettuce prey* I see you Darrel Murray
oh snap really, five years? yeah nevermind, lol, forget my post. Qualifying Offer way more enticing then.
Capela should refuse anything under that 100m - he will easily get more than that next season.....should just hold out until the season, sign the restricted offer, go into next season unrestricted. No discount for the team, he owes them nothing. DD
He will easily get a non bird rights 4 year max deal next season? There’s no guarantee of that so no he should not refuse anything under $100M. Asinine take
60-80 mil is life changing generational money. No difference in lifestyle betweent 15mil a year vs 20mil. If I were Clint, I would ask for a 3 year 50mil and call it a day.
People told that to DMo and Nerlens Noel and they have never recovered their value and probably never will. Betting on yourself is all fine and good, but Capela's value is capped if there is a perception that his offensive game is predicated on having elite PG play. I think there is. There were a number of teams with capspace that needed a center and did not back up the Brinks truck to Capela. Compare that to the market for Zach Lavine, or Aaron Gordon.
Let me tell you something, CC numbers for next season will not decline. Why? Hes playing next to CP3 and Harden. However his value will greatly depending on the market. As we see it this summer on how teams are all saving up for next summer big FA market. CC shouldnt gamble on himself as there are not that many teams that in need of a big man. The rookie draft has few big men that are good and ready to go. Next draft class has couple as well. The market is shrinking and getting smaller for big men.
Cool. Capela’s agent posts here. Turn down guaranteed generational money for a slim shot at slightly more next year. Genius. I really like Capela, he’s incredibly valuable to this team. But he’s not, at this point, a $100 million dollar player. He just isn’t. If he can walk away with 17million per on his first contract in free agency as a 22yr old, he’s done incredibly well for himself. The Rockets aren’t lowballing him.
Capela wants to be here at a high price. Cool... if Rockets say no cool. We can replace him we got heads up. Capela if he gets paid by another team good for him.
People think it is just more money. It could be slightly more money and a player option, less years and a trade kicker.
he will not easily get 25 mil. there will be better free agents on the market. if you are a team with cap space, why would CC be your big acquisition ? how many teams are a CC away from a title ??? he is a good player and important, but 25 mil ? i just cant see too many GMs spending that on him unless its a short deal.
Agree with the sentiment that the market for a $25mil center is slim for a guy who doesn't get a lot of buckets without a HOF player feeding him the ball inches from the hoop - the number of teams with cap space willing to go that route is just not that large this year or next and Morey knows that. Capela's camp is probably looking at this in terms of how screwed Houston is if he leaves and while that is a true statement because Houston would instantly be worse and there is nothing remotely close to a Capela replacement out there, I feel like Morey is right to stick to a respectable offer($15-$20mil/yr). I suspect the really low ball numbers reported were leaked by Capelas camp trying to get teams to make a higher offer on Capella but who has cap space to make that offer right now?
His agent, got to go. 5 years at $17 million per year, playing with two HoF guards who enjoy passing the ball, a guaranteed starting role on the best team in Texas...what else could you want!!! Otherwise, just go sign with the Worriers. They need all the help they can get.
Capela isn't worth that much, but it's a greedy business. The agents want to get rich, and persuade the players to hold out for more and more. The sad part is, they don't even work that hard for it. All that money for playing less than 40 minutes in a game with more resting than playing, when you add in timeouts and commercial breaks. This situation with Clint is like DMO all over again, and it's so disappointing, because he has been offered so much money. It would be a shame to lose Clint this year, especially after throwing a huge payday bundle to CP3, and taking chances he even gives us 2 good years. It will be even worse if we lose Clint, and then suffer with CP3 and his ridiculously large salary while he nurses knees and hamstrings on the bench, or ends up becoming a play every other game Nene so he can rest his tired legs kinda guy. I love CP3's maturity, dedication and skill, but also know that he is more of an injury risk than a younger player, and can't really be counted on to stay healthy. He has proven that over and over. We are going to need a whole lot of luck this year, and so far luck hasn't been on our side. We need a miracle now!!!! PJ and Green need to turn into superheroes, and have a year like nobody has ever seen from them!!!!!! Wouldn't that be something? Gotta hope, gotta believe, and gotta enjoy what we are watching, or it's not even worth our time. Go Rockets!!!!
Morey should tell Capela and his Camp that we wouldn't even sign Adams to 100 million dollar deal.. You see what type of cap hell OKC is in now! I'll hope he signs the qualifying offer! More better team friendly deals next summer at center!
