I wonder if the language in the contract specifies if the 2000 minutes includes post season. If not he would have to play at least 65 games a year.

It doesn’t really specify in the tweet but I case it’s safe to assume it’s regular season minutes only.

Only a fool would take a month to negotiate a contract with him while not hesitating for a second to sign some other injury prone dude for way way way more money...

Because we changed our defensive scheme to let him drop to the rim......

Look, he's putting up great numbers.

    He's playing well.

But this defensive scheme with him dropping WILL NOT WORK against the Warriors.

    Period.

    End.

You know what, I honestly agree with this idiot right here.

Can y'all imagine how badly we'd sweep the Warriors with Thon Maker at the C position and Zhou manning the PF against the Warriors!

    hehehehehe I like it!

I believe you just established that Clint Capela is vastly outplaying his contract

You said it, Rockets have recently switched our defense to allow Capela to hang back towards the rim rather than switching and guarding guards.

They did this not because Capela was incapable, but because the rest of the roster other than Capela was incapable of securing rebounds.

Since having Capela stay back, he has been an absolute BEAST on rebounds. multiple games of 20+ rebounds

Before the switch he was still playing at an allstar level. The man is averaging 17pts and 12 rebounds

WHAT A LUXERY it is to have a player that can excel either/or.. Who you can have stay back towards the rim and beast on the boards, or have him guard GUARDS and have him playing great.

I can't think of more than 5 centers in the game that can do that.. We have one of them on the cheap :D

Aside from the fact you're over exaggerating a defensive scheme change, we will not need to drop him against the Warriors. Our switching scheme is designed for them, and we've proven it works. Their 5-out motion with no low post threat, takes them away from the boards, too.

What we've done is made adjustment to the rest of the teams, when needed. But with the Warriors, we go back to what worked in the playoffs.

It works. Our switching scheme is designed for them. It's been proven.

so you're saying capela is the reason we didn't beat GSW last year?

He's saying we can't beat them dropping a big, which we never did against them.

He assumes we don't know how to do multiple schemes for different teams and situations.

He thinks that sense we are now adding wrinkles to our switching scheme to shore up our rebounding means when can't go back to what we do to GSW, who is one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, for last 3 years.

Against the Warriors, we will convert back to our switch-everything defense.
