Can we finally admit that Reggie Jackson is at least sort of good?

I see words such as "bona-fide Scrub," and "overrated" thrown his way and quite frankly don't believe they're accurate

I mean while it could always just be a flash in the pan. 40 pts is still a good game

He sure took Lillard's lunch money last night. He has put up decent numbers but it will take some time before a Jackson-Jennings back-court does not make suspect.

This year has been amazing (Rockets' record notwithstanding). A team like the Pistons is now a team to watch for in League Pass.

    Sort of good? Maybe.
Overrated? Depends who you're listening to, but most people understand he is a high volume chucker.
Worth a 5 year / $80mn max contract? Absolutely not.

Granted, but you have to admit he looks decent enough to be a cog in a pistons playoff run

He has talent. Never said he didn't. Problem is (1) he can't shoot, (2) his effort level varies a LOT and (3) he simply does not defend at all.

It's a long season. Let's see how it plays out.

    this....

Westbrook is making $78 mil. explain that one.
When Stephen signed his extension it was $44 mil for 4 years.

lets talk more about how overpaid Reggie actually is. I don't get the gap between okay starters and superstars for salary anymore.

You can't possibly tell me Reggie is worth even half of Westbrook from the owner-business side of basketball.

These contracts are what ruins basketball in cities for decades.

I don't believe Reggie is a top 10 PG in the league - maybe not even top 15.

In no order, here are ten sure fire better than him.

    1.Steph
    2. WB
    3.Paul
    4.Parker
    5.Rose
    6.Irving
    7.Lillard
    8.Conely
    9. Lowry
    10. Wall
    11. Teague
    12. Rondo - probably - due to effort and defensive ability.
    13. Isiah Thomas
    14. Bledsoe

That's a list of guys I would 100% take over Reggie Jackson. I find he doesn't do anything a top 10 PG should be able to do.

Sort of good? As in starter good? Sure. As in star good? No. As in top 10 guards of the league? Certainly not.

I'd take Jackson over Rondo at this point. Rondo actually is a defensive liability these days. And he's only going to get worse. At least Reggie is still young and doesn't have the reputation of being a chemistry killer and locker room cancer.

    Otherwise good list.

    It's all relative.

He's a very good basketball player, but nowhere near one of the best players at his position, despite being payed like it.

He's very good. Just not a foundational player. And definitely not a PG.

Well, yes, you can say he is really good. I mean, he's already in the Hall of Fame and you don't get the nickname Mr. October for being a scrub.

    Oh...

You mean the basketball guy? He's kinda maybe good at times.

Terence Ross had 51 point game. Brewer had 50+ point game. This Reggie you speak off had just 40.

How can you compare his contract vs guys who signed deals way back when?

The NBA financial climate is totally different. Apples and oranges.

Jacob, I could go on all day with the scrubs that have dropped 40. He may not be a scrub but he's nowhere near a max player.

I'd take Reggie Jackson over Derrick Rose today.

Where did I say he was? I worded it "at least sort of good" for a reason.
