Tonight 11/24, we saw the Warriors basically play half their team with Durant and Green sitting out. This makes me think:

Are the Warriors talented and deep enough that if they split their team into 2 teams, could those two half-Warrior teams still make the playoffs?

The challenge is to split the current Warriors full roster into two teams as evenly as possible. The rest of the two half-Warrior teams are filled with replacement-level players relative to their depth. One team continues to be coached by Kerr and the other by Brown.

How would these two half-Warrior teams compare and rank to actual NBA teams in the rest of the league?

I think the Warriors are talented and deep enough that two half-Warrior teams would actually still be better than half the NBA teams and each would still make the playoffs.

So, I'm sitting here thinking... that first team is hella soft with Stephanie, Zaza, and Casspi, but then the second team has Cupcake and Swaggy P -- and I just realized how Donkey is the real MVP on this team.

Good attempt at two half Warrior teams. But you're still missing Patrick McCaw and Jordan Bell. I'd probably put Bell on Team 1 and McCaw on Team 2 for balance.

    SG: Klay
    SF: Casspi
    PF: Iggy
    C: Zaza
    6th Man: Looney
    7th Man: Bell
    Coach: Kerr

    PG: Livingston
    SG: Nick Young
    SF: Durant
    PF: Draymond
    C: Javale
    6th man: West
    7th man: McCaw
    Coach: Brown

These two teams don't look half bad and I think they could each have a shot at the playoffs as lower seeds.

Easily. Two all-stars per team (including one MVP-candidate each) is a playoff team. Remember the T-Mac/Yao teams with Rafer Alston, Luther Head, etc.?

Can a "two half-warriors" all stars team beat a lottery kings team?

I also think 2 “half-Rocket” teams could make the playoffs:

    PG:Harden
    SG: Mbah a Moute
    SF: Tucker
    PF: Nene
    C: Capela
    Coach: D’Antoni

    PG: Paul
    SG: Gordon
    SF: Ariza
    PF: Anderson
    C: Black
    Coach: Bzdelik

That's not very impressive. If you split the 15-16 Rockets into two teams, they'd make the playoffs

    Team 1
    Terry
    Harden
    Brewer
    Motiejunas
    Capela
    ---------
    Beasley
    Dekker
    Harrell
    Coach: McHale

    Team 2
    Beverley
    McDaniel
    Ariza
    Jones
    Howard
    ----------
    Smith
    Lawson
    Hayes
    Coach: Bickerstaff

But if you put them together as one team, they'd miss the playoffs. :D

I would like to meet your question with another question. Can we stop idolizing the Warriors for no reason whatsoever?
