He's still strong. Still fast and explosive. But IMO those days of him dunking over bigs are over. He's getting rejected by 6'2 Nunn on the fast break.
I’ve read somewhere that he’s hesitant to dunk super hard because of his fingers getting dislocated again
For one thing his hands are really jacked up. He cannot bend a number of his fingers or grip the ball properly or consistency. He also is coming off a knee surgery.
Anyone speak from experience on the recovery from dislocated fingers? Been wondering this myself. He's clearly excited to get to the hoop but looks timid when he puts the ball up for a layup.
could this be the reason why he ain't shooting well? those fingers been bothering him. it all makes sense now
Tilman is cheap crowd: he clearly instructed russ he better be careful when dunking not to crush the glass, its expensive!
Didn't watch him closely last season but have been surprised at how few dunks he's had this year so far..
It’s his fingers. from what I see his athleticism is still top notch which is great. he’s so fast and can get to the hoop at will. hopefully he’ll start doing that more with less threes and we’ll see the russ we need.
I've dislocated fingers playing ball before, and if I had his athleticism I'd take a dislocated finger to embarrass some people at the rim any day. Maybe he's just done it so many times that it's caused some kind of permanent "irritation" or swelling, or permanent ligament damage
He can still go high. He was doing it in first games of this season. Wise to wait some time until his hand heal up.
