Rockets currently at 15 made me look up the current longest streaks and I'm really surprised the Warriors are officially credited with 28 games straight with 4 end of the 14-15 regular season wins on top of the 24-0 start in 15-16. Makes very little sense to me since the play-offs were in between and yes there's different records for regular season and play-offs, but to carry things over from a previous season arbitrarily is silly in my opinion. Let's say Harden finishes the regular season with at least 2 made threes a game and then starts off the next regular season with x amount. Do you say he's had only the amount from this season or count from last? Where do you draw the line between things carrying over or not? Anyway, Rockets stand at 15, can they sneak into top 5 and end up even 4th or 3rd and break their own best 22 games in a row? 16. Mar 6 - @ Thunder 17. Mar 7 - @ Bucks 18. Mar 9 - @ Raptors 19. Raptors game might be a loss. The bucks one a night after a game in OKC might be iffy. The way Portland is rolling that’s another tough game.
Schedule is really tough. I can't see us sustaining this streak considering the quality teams we are facing. Usually these large streaks come at the brink of having a really easy schedule. If we do it, it would be incredible.
On paper we shouldn't lose another game, we will be better than every team we play. But things obviously never work out that way. Too many quality teams, and too many games over a short stretch. We're gonna drop a few, and people will panic about them.
Id be shocked if we get to 18 straight. 3 games in 4 nights this week against good to great teams on the road is about as tough of a stretch as you can have. Im hopeful though...
I hate those stupid amount of back-to-backs... Ehh.. it all depends on the first three. If we beat the Raptors and OKC. Most definitely.
I would never bet against this team. Streak or not, we are seeing the best Rockets team ever in the regular season. If we surpass the streaks we will be seeing the best NBA team ever in the regular season. Streaks r us.
MDA will have to stretch that lineup to 10 for these games and live with the results. Morey has said MDA likes all of them, so let's us see how much he likes them. Except for the pg and center positions, the Rockets are playing the NBA equivalent of Total Football, made famous by that great 1974 Netherlands soccer team.
not an easy schedule coming up. i don't care much about the streak so long as we win enough games to finish #1. we're on pace for 64-65 wins. that's still 5-6 more losses over the last 20 games would look something like: Mar 6 - @ Thunder L Mar 7 - @ Bucks W Mar 9 - @ Raptors L Mar 11 - @ Mavs W Mar 12 - vs Spurs W Mar 15 - vs Clippers W Mar 17 - @ Pelicans L Mar 18 - @ Wolves W Mar 20 - @ Blazers L Mar 22 - vs Pistons W Mar 24 - vs Pelicans W Mar 25 - vs Hawks W Mar 27 - vs Bulls W Mar 30 - vs Suns W Apr 1 - @ Spurs L Apr 3 - vs Wizards W Apr 5 - vs Blazers W Apr 7 - vs Thunder W Apr 10 - @ Lakers W Apr 11 - @ Kings W this would give us 64 wins. the warriors schedule is very easy the rest of the way. they may only lose 2-3 more games. we will have to find a way to turn 1-2 of those losses into wins if we want #1.
Granted, I never saw this streak reaching 15. But I can't see them getting it to 20 and beyond. They'd have to sweep this upcoming road trip which is a tall order. I will say this though. If they somehow make it through that game in Portland in a couple weeks with this streak intact, they could very well break the Lakers' 33 game winning streak by season's end. The only game left after that in which they wouldn't be heavily favored is at San Antonio.
I don't think the streak survives the road trip. I'd be pretty happy if we went 2-1. I just want to beat the Thunder and Raptors since we already lost to them.
