    I'm not upset with 40-18 and the 3rd seed. What I am upset about is that the Rockets could be even better if they took some of these recent games more seriously at the defensive end. The Atlanta and both Miami losses should've been wins. Imagine a 43-15 record right now. We'd have a shot at the 2nd seed, an easier first round opponent, and a much better chance of reaching the WCF.

    The Rockets' recent struggles concern me because they're starting to lose games(or need miracle comebacks like vs Chicago) against inferior opponents, including at home. This wasn't happening in the first couple months of the season. Sometimes one regular season loss to a team you should've beaten can come back and bite you in the ass. Just ask the 1992-93 Rockets after their Game 7 overtime loss in Seattle.

    I agree with this actually. But I also think we've had some external factors that have contributed to our recent lackluster performance . . . including the brutal schedule and injuries/health issues, most notably Gordon. I do think we're going to bounce back after the break and try to regain that early season form. And who knows, Morey may pull a Morey and surprise us all with a trade that makes a difference. (pssst . . . my sauces tell me he's working on Brewer for LeBron straight up.)

    I agree with you, that last 5-6 weeks have been a bit disappointing. But I think that's all the more reason for folks to catch a breath, admire that 40-18 record compared to where we all collectively were last year, and be happy the season has turned out better so far than almost everyone thought it would.
