According to NBATalk, Falk has told the Bulls that if they sign Rice for the maximum, then Eddie Jones will join him in Chicago.

IMO, Jones/Rice is better than Hill/McGrady, especially since McGrady's hype is all about potential than actual results.

Hill is better than Rice and Jones all by himself.

I am a fan of Eddie Jones as well, but he isn't a better player than Hill. Rice is in the twilight of his career and has a rep. of beng a whiner. I think Orlando has already won the FA frenzy.

I think San Antonio wins the Free Agent frenzy by resigning their franchise player Tim Duncan when all indications were that he was headed east to Orlando.

In the modern era of free agency, signing your own player is difficult (especially with the new trend of unethical cap sheding tank-a-thons) and shouldn't be overlooked. I'm not a San Antonio fan, but it's admirable the way the city pulled together and created an outcry.

Without Tim Duncan that team was obviously headed into the doldrums of the cellar dwellars. With Tim Duncan, they are a legitimate contender for the NBA Championship. With the outside possibilty of adding Derrick Anderson to their roster, they look to have locked up the Midwest Division.

I believe props are in order.

Looks like the will get that forward. According to NBAtalk look for Charlotte to trade PJ Brown (acquired in Jones to Heat trade) to LA for Glen Rice.

Just looking at the numbers I wanted to clarify something that appeared confusing, the

25.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.39 steals per game that Hill supplied in the last season is better than the

36 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 3.26 steals combined that Jones and Rice supplied last season.

I think that Glen Rice can have a great year if he is given the ball more than he was in L.A.
Looking at the Bulls potential lineup:
    C- ?
    PF- Brand
    SF- Rice
    SG- Jones
    PG- Crawford
Not nearly as bad as they were last year when you add Fizer coming off the bench.

Let's put it this way, if Chicago does sign both Rice and Jones, they still have only signed one pair of knees. Sorry, Rice is not worth the kind of money the Bulls will have to pay him -- or the amount of time they will have to do so. I'm not sure that Eddie Jones is worth having to take Rice.

Let me 1st say I am a fan of Eddie Jones.

I think Eddie is better defensively than Hill, but Hill is a better offensive player and I also think Hill does a great job of keeping his teammates ivolved. I would love to have either of these guys.

I think Rice is a deadly shooter who doesn't play Defense. McGrady has not yet impressed me that much. Sure he is an athletic, high flier but most of what we see in McGrady is potential. I think both of these guys will be extremely overpaid, although McGrady does have the potential to be a good one.

All in all I would not want McGrady or Rice on my team making top dollar, but Eddie or Hill are both great players.

Yes it is. Otherwise obtaining Othella Harrington + David Wesley would be a better deal than getting Grant Hill (yeah, right... find me the GM that does that makes that transaction).

    Othella + David = 26.7 pts, 9.6 rebs, 1.77 steals, 6.8 assists.

Quality is not the sum of the parts. Grant Hill to me is better than Eddie Jones and Glen Rice.

If Glen Rice does end up in Chicago when all is said and done, I'll be curious to see the effect that his presence will have on Elton Brand's numbers/shots. That could be a serious chemestry problem.

If the owners got together and tried to do the equivalent of what Falk proposed, it would be considered collusion and an anti-trust law violation.
    Falk is a b*stard.
Agents, in general, have ruined pro sports.

Falk is having to package the two to get Rice more money and the fact that he has turned to this means that he knows that Rice isn't worth it.

Seriously, I hope Rice signs with the Bulls for the MAX. Not only would it hurt the Lakers, but also the Bulls!! To be honest I hope the bulls learn soon that tanking doesn't work and that they're going to need to start scratching a team together the hard way soon and try and get some FA interest in Chicago again (through a hard work ethic) - which would then mean they could get a veteran FA or 2. Face it, a couple of seasons more of massive losing seasons and the bulls will become the clippers....
