With Deng out for a few weeks and Hinrich with bruised ribs maybe a trade is in the works? http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...7chicago-bulls-viktor-khryapa,1,7148123.story
I love how these foreign players supposedly play so great but "for some reason" don't get minutes. I guess the thought never occurs to them that a coach who doesn't play his best players doesn't keep his job long. How long before we hear that Khryapa no longer believes Paxson's lies?
But for the sake of my post let's not discuss that. Seriously, VSpan (I know he was your boy but he sucked) Kryilenko and now Khryapa come to mind when it comes to whining about coaches not recognizing their ability.
But it happens all the time where players do not fit into a particular coaches style and once they are in a better system for their talents they flourish. Dale Ellis was probably the best example......but it happens a lot. Coaches get locked into a thought process about a player and it is nearly impossible to change their minds.....at least the bad or average coaches that is.....the great ones are maliable. DD
Khryapa was in the league for 4 years and in the two years in Chicago he was definately buried but he was unlucky to be behind Deng and Nocioni. He was starting to show his ability in his second year in Portland but then got traded as filler. As for AK47 if a player has given you all star calibre play at a position and then a coach moves him to a position where he's sruggling his way to DNPs then yes the coach shoulder a greater portion of the blame.
Haha, that original quote was funny as hell and I believe it was "V-Span no longer hates Van Gundy's lies". V-Span sucked, get over it.
It happens to american players too. Jermaine O'Neal and the Blazers. Ben Wallace and the Magic. Diaw and the Hawks.
I never understand why people always side with the coaches in these instances....like they know more than the players etc.... It is like being a doctor, most people don't want to believe that there are bad doctors out there.... Just as there are bad coaches, or ones that are myopic in their approach, which may not fit a particular player. DD
Honestly, I think a lot of American coaches bury their Euro players and never give them a shot. Look at Beno Udrih. He was buried on Popovich's bench for whatever reason and then went to Sacremento and shined.
All those guys went on to be great players. Vspan took his ball and went home, Kryalenko has stuck around but he cried all summer and now this cat in Chicago is doing the same thing.
i dont remember the exact trade but didnt the bulls trade aldridge for thomas and khryapa? or did they also get something else back from portland? like another pick if they didnt then that was silly they really could have used aldridge instead of thomas oh well.. that bulls team has a lot of young talent looking to get paid and a lot of similar players even with the recent injuries its hard to believe that they are as terrible as their record shows in the east
Because contrary to popular belief, Scott Skiles isn't that great of a coach. He's defininately not a players coach and from a friend of mine who played against him in high school, he said that Skiles is a cocky SOB who's arrogant as all get out.
rockets should look into kryhpa. seems pretty desperate to play. sounds like he'd play like a mad man. gotta feed his kid like cinderella man.
