Haha why would Morey text someone like you to tell you that?

    I'm really hoping for

    Lin/Douglas
    Lee/Lamb
    Parsons
    Monty/White
    Dwight/Asik

With the bad contracts mixed in.

That would be highly unethical (breaking verbal agreement with Asik) and he probably wouldn't sign. It would also make the Rockets look like untrustworthy a-holes to any other potential free agents.

Under terms of the new CBA, it is only back loaded for the Bulls because of the MAX THEY can offer him. For Houston, its the same amount every year. Its a glitch that they are now calling the "poison pill" if I am not mistaking.

The Bulls can only offer him a maximum of ** amount of dollars in year one and two of a new deal.

I completely understand that, but I would think a player would not mind a more front loaded contract so he gets more money up front..

with asik on board, now you can get Bynum and have the same defensive production as you would by having Bizzaro.
    Asik +Bynum> Bizzaro+Bizzaro drama

    straight up mauryballin', yo!

I like it but i would start something like:

Lin / Fortson or Machado or Douglas
    Lamb / Forbes (maybe)
    Parson / Jones
    Donuts / White
    Asik / (FA)

Front loading won't matter because the cap hit for the Rockets will be averaged out over the life of the contract.

I don't think the Rockets can structure a contract like that for him anyways, since (I think) he fits under the Gilbert Arenas rule.

Can't be done due to early bird rights restrictions. Bulls would have to remove the QO and renounce his rights.

It's $8 mil per year on our cap regardless of how it's structured.

I have to say this team is coming together. All depends on what you have to give up to get Howard to get him here.

I love the upside of White, Lamb and DMot. There will be some growing pains, but I think Howard will see the talent there, but talent that won't overshadow him, unlike the current best approach of get three megastars and scrubs around them.

I'm sure they can but I doubt Asik and his agent would like that very much. Plus if you do that what's to say it helps the Bulls ability to actually MATCH the offer... Lin's case was a very unique scenario that will more than likely never be duplicated.

But good question, I initially started thinking the same thing.

Because he is a human being just like the rest of us?

    Also, "someone like me" ????

How do you know what I do? Who I am...? I could be an agent, a GM for another team... Or work for an agent or a team...

    Never know... ;)

Just know how good of a community Clutch Fans is... I know it's good people that are very respectful and classy... This is known around the basketball community...

the 5, 5.2 is set by a percentage of the cap based on yrs of service, so no.

Given how the Rockets handled the Lin contract, I doubt other folks around the league are staying up late at night trying to be "classy" towards the Rockets.

If we can just move Martin we would have a very promising young core of guys that would net us a decent pick. I'm really liking what Murray is doing.
