    contact was supposedly lost ~80 miles (10 minutes) before entering Egyptian airspace

    correction: contact was lost ~10 miles after the plane had already entered Egyptian airspace

    Suddenly lost contact at 37,000 feet. I think we know what this is.

    Its far too early to speculate. All I'll say is cruising altitude is generally considered the safest and least eventful segment of flight.

    I know each life is precious, but this could have been WAY worse. And if it's just 66 people on board, I'm thinking it's probably a weather or pilot error than a terrorist attack.

    I still hope everyone's ok though.

    Weather or pilot error usually doesn't cause a plane to disappear from radar instantaneously.
