I find the following paragraphs from an article from an article about Butler's Ronald Nored interesting and think it may be of interest to other Rockets fans: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ga-ahern_nored_driven_by_defense_040311 The Teflon Don is inspiring the next generation of Teflon Dons to rise up.
He is a very long shot for the NBA and I doubt he comes out this year as a junior. He D is great but he is not much of a scorer and not much of a perimeter shooter. The non-scoring part you can live with, but as a 6'' role-player guard you gotta have some kind of shooting ability to space the floor in the NBA.
The universe is divided into two factions: those who think Shane Battier is a special NBA player and those who think he is hugely overrated.
It just so happens that the intelligent ones think Battier is a special player... Guaranteed cheap SF signing for the Rockets next season.
One big problem....Battier was a freaking stud in college. He wasn't no damn, no-stat All Star. Just did not have athleticism in the pros.
Nored is a very nice kid, but he's not 1/10th the player Battier was. We won't be seeing him in the NBA as a player. He won't be drafted but some team will let him on their summer league squad next summer. Then it's bye bye and he moves on.
EXACTLY. Battier destroyed fools in college. Not to mention Norad is a 6' foot guard who is very limited offensively. No comparison whatsoever.
