You can try, they're the knicks they done pretty whacky deals. They only have a few options and they don't have the leverage on this.

Melo can just wait a year n they get nothing and he chooses where to go even if it's not Houston. They can buy him out which NY doesn't want. They can trade him and get something in return which they can trade later or idk do something lol.

Morey won't back down knowing that Melo and Chris want to play together. Who knows what they all been talking about. Point is Melo wants to come to play w Chris and Harden. Morey is trying his best but he won't sacrifice our debt knowing all this.

We can also just ride it out and see how the team does. I just want this to be over.

Scott Perry might actually be the perfect trade partner, dude is ****ing connected. Wouldn't be surprised to see Portland locked out and this deal goes through Sacramento and Phoenix instead. He's a big time draft guy too but he likes 3-4 year players so he's probably finessing a **** load of second round picks to compensate the talent drop off, he knows talent. This dude could realistically make the Knicks great again

Dolan might have done a ton of terrible deals. But he wants Melo to stay to sell tickets. CP3 may not be here anymore by next year. Him,Melo, and others may pull a Miami and go somewhere else together unless Rockets make some serious noise in the playoff.
You don't know where Lebron is going next summer, Melo has to reevaluate his options based on next summers situation.
The toxic contract of Ryno has Negative trade value. NY would be more willing to trade Melo for a bag of chips than to trade for Ryno. Third team, fourth team doesn't change the fact it has Negative trade value.

Yeah - All parties are motivated, the deal is on the 2-yard line but no deal imminent. Melo has been told he will be a Rocket but trade talks are paused. Rockets are confident deal will get done. Trade will likely happen within the next year but no guarantee all parties can come to an agreement.

Pls let's say they want Melo to stay, all that does for Knicks is keep hardaway from evolving and takes up a bunch of cap space

And in Melos end what's the power by of staying, a ring is obviously not gonna happen in NY by any means

Ryan is much more of an asset than you are giving him credit for. 15 million per year is about the norm for someone of his caliber. Having said that, it's good that Anderson makes 20 million, bc if he was making 8 million, we wouldn't be able to trade him and a pick to the Knicks for Melo... We'd have to throw in salary that would be similar to what EG is making. No thanks.

ryan is atrocious defensively, rebounding, finishing at the rim, and putting the ball on the floor. he's also been injury prone throughout his career. and at his one singular skill, he's streaky at best. i doubt even at $15M/per still with 3yrs guaranteed that there'd be any market for his contract in a positive light. as far as being grateful that we have him at a $20M salary slot instead of just $8M, you're omitting the fact that we would have then had $12M to sign another player(s) last summer and those contracts would also be available to include in trade for melo now.
