I think Boras represents Harper, Marwin, Keuchel, Cole, and Bregman. So it could be any number of things. Or nothing at all. But yes, adding Bryce Harper to Houston’s lineup (and subsequently trading Tucker for Realmuto or a good SP) would be pretty sweet.

Boras also represents Gio Gonzalez and the Japanese pitcher Kikuchi.

Boras has other clients outside of Bryce, including several within the Astros organization. As much as I'd love to get hyped, it's not happening. Harper will be a Dodger.

Wonder if Bregs is open to an "Altuve special," and gets some more money now while buying out some arbitration eligible years? That could extend the window with some more cost certainty.

Kinda see the Astros core four as somewhat analagous to the W's: Altuve:Curry, Springer:Thompson, Bregman:Green (love him on your team, hate playing against him), and Correa: Durant.

Would be great to have more of the core locked up early to pay other pieces like the Warriors did with (ironically) the Curry and Green early extensions.

No comparison in a team that starts 5 players and a team that starts 9 hitters and a slew of pitchers.

He's here personally to shut down those Christmas tips to fast foodies. No free money. Bregman about to get a tongue lashing.

Well it’ll be interesting to see what news Bregman was alluding to, as now we are but a few days from his 2 week heads up.

But ehh if nothing major goes down, intentions are very commonly detailed by tough realistic negotiations.

Bregman has too much control left for that to make sense right now

What could be happening is extension talks with Springer, and if they think the chances of being able to keep him long term aren’t great, then a long term deal with Harper makes more sense. Guarantees a long term star OF, and gives you a year with 3 all star level guys out there together

I bet Bregmans comments were geared towards his Youtube channel or something along those lines

When has one player ever broken another player’s signing news? Alex just likes creating a stir.

    Interesting article on Harpers value:

    https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/ignoring-bryce-harpers-mvp-season/

Basically, Harper has an equal chance to be worth $450M as $200M over the next 10 years. Any team that can come up with the money would feel great about getting him for $300M/10yr, since odds are he will be worth significantly more than that. Will be fascinating to watch this play out.
